That country is the size of New Jersey on the other side of the world and we’re losing our country and allies over them.

That country can get wiped off the map and made useless during a real war in less than 10 minutes compared to the allies we’re losing/lost. They don’t even have a strategic location. In a large scale conflict they’d get pounded by their warring neighbors immediately and taken out of the equation.
