boxing is one of the oldest activities of all time. as long as human have two hands boxing will be around. theres a tradition to two men fighting on their feet using their fists only. thats what i want to do and i do it. i dont care if i cant win an mma fight because i dont have grappling skills. i dont go round challenging people on the street saying im the toughest so why should i be worried about what another man is going to do to me? :usure:

i box because i love the sport and thats it.

Boxing is not older than Wrestling, the FIRST sport. Grappling came before striking, and it's more effective in a fight.

That said, I ain't tying to convert you, do you. But have the respect for the different crafts of human combat because they all have strengths and weaknesses. That's why people cross train, to maximize their physical and combat effectiveness

yeah you got all these people cross training but how many actually get in a ring or cage and fight? because i fight motherfukker and i find it disrespectful when people tell me about how i need to cross train.

Tons of people fight, but they compete in their own styles.

The main reason people say to cross train is so you don't have any gaping holes in you fighting style. If all you know is striking, grapplers will smash you. If all you know is grappling, strikers can smash you

Badr Hari is one of the best strikers in the world. Here he is getting destroyed by some random local scrub who had been training bjj for a year or so...

This is what the typical striker vs grappler fight looks like. The striker has a few seconds to finish the fight before the grappler grabs a hold of him, takes him to the ground, and submits him.

Here's the thing the boxer has the advantage on jump cause standing up is his game. If he can keep his opponent at arms length it's lights out for bjj fighter.

A brawler (tyson style) will put a bjj out cold within seconds. A power combo from a trained professional will knock a bjj noodles loose before he can get his hands on em.

A mayweather style won't work for long cause a purely defensive fighter can last but so long until the bjj can get a grip on you. You need a brawler to neutralize this thing quick.

A bjj without strong striking defensive prowess against a brawling boxer will last seconds.

BJJ fighters are too cocky in their game. Boxing lovers too. but thing is when against a boxer, the boxer got the drop. The drop meaning initial advantage.

Not to mention boxing looks cooler to the spectators:obama:

I just dont agree. You're talking about a boxer. Someone who has zero grappling ability and zero takedown defense. A man around his size will the majority of the time, take him down and submit him. If you're Mike Tyson vs Justin Bieber with a black belt in bjj ok but theres a reason boxers dont more frequently cross over into mma using pure boxing, Because they cant. The reflexes you develop to deal with boxers just from training BJJ will be enough to deal with most boxers, Most of the time. Most boxers are not thinking *omg this guy is gonna grapple me i better stick and move. They're thinkin im about to knock this guy out, then it doesnt happen. We have all the footage we need to prove this is true. Im sorry. Boxers need to cross train.

and you dont think a BJJ guy could take down mayweather? You think its that easy to just run away from a man that wants to grab you? You think Mayweather is going to pitty pat punch ko someone who has a hold of him. YOu think mayweather will 1 inch punch someone that grabs him and they just fall out. Be real. Dana White offered mayweather a chance to fight a low tier ufc fighter and money wanted no parts of it He knows to stay in his lane. Rules benefit boxers which is why the ref steps in when they grab one another.

How many times do boxers clinch in a boxing match to where the ref has to step in and separate them? Stop it, its disgusting Thats bjj time.

Outside of a pure boxing match, every singled fight you get in.

Think about how often Boxers clinch up and lock up with each other.... in a REAL fight, you won't have a ref to save you or break the clinch up. All of that is grappling. Just having a bit of know how can put you so far ahead of people that don't, its ridiculous
