Yea but you’re dumbing yourself down. People who listen to brandy that actually sing or grew up on her music are looking for that technical, little intricate things that set brandy apart

I don’t even think brandy knows a normal way how to sing

She’d have to basically dumb herself down and hold back which you can’t do to natural instincts/talent
No, we’re not. I never had a discussion about Brandy’s technical skill in 4/5th 10th/11th grade nor in college. People liked her music and kept it moving. Y’all are doing too much, people don’t sit around discussing intonation and pitch and whatever else when they listen to music, unless there is a glaring flaw like Christina Aguilera who can’t control her voice for shyt, most people don’t care about technical skills :heh:

That's because most of y'all don't understand and really like music like that. Most people only like music on a surface level.

Did you miss where Monica dropped angel of mine, slow jam and before you walk out my life?!

Now nikkas acting like they were bumping impossible before lol. Y'all watched Cinderella?

Have You Ever ties Angel of Mine and beat Slow Jam n BYWOOML w/ Put it Down and Sitting Up in My Room..easily. Monica also dropped the ball heavily with Everytime time the beat drops (which got washed by Brandy’s Kanye Feature (backpack days).. this cycle repeated on round 18 and 19, too.. Again, Monica lost major momentum after the 2nd wave.
:yeshrug:

as a young kid who grew up in a family of musicians n singers I watched anything that had Whitney singin.. This goes for The Preacher’s Wife, too.. my upbringing was pretty wholesome outside a few dark phases..:wow:

Enjoyed the hits...but the energy was weird. Definitely felt forced. Women have a tone they take on when they being fake and throwing shots and I picked up on it quite early in the battle.

I hate that they barely got up and barely sung.

Again, I enjoyed the music but...I think they should rethink asking artists to battle who have "history. "

DMX vs Snoop is probably my current fave...I danced the entire night for that one.

No shyt. That’s like asking the every person to care about the technical execution of a meal, no one gives a fukk as long as it looks and tastes good. Monica’s voice sounds good, only people deep Into the technical aspects of singing sit around nit picking “being off center”.

y’all aren’t winning this, this is not knowledge or a concern the masses have, music wouldn’t be enjoyable if every consumer dissected it at that level

NE easily. NE vs DeBarge or The Jackson

Boy z II Men vs Jodeci
Maze vs Lakeside
Gamble and Huff vs Holland/Dozier
Stevie vs Smokey
NE v. Boyz II Men made the same type of music but B2M did it way better. I love Jodeci but do they have the catalog for 20 songs?

I forgot how protective labels were in the 90's of certain R&B singer's images. I forgot Brandy never cursed in public. Wild how times have changed.
I hate this new era. So wack, artists cared about having class and being presentable 25 years.

Well when you're talking about who's the better singer/vocalist, all that stuff comes into play.

It's like when people say Chris Brown is a better dancer then Omarion, but when people who actually have a background in dancing and can break it down technically say that Omarion is better, then all of a sudden it's "I don't care about any of that"

Which is why I said before in my previous post: if you like Monica's voice better than Brandy's, then just say that. But don't say she's a better vocalist than Brandy, because she's objectively not

Monica voice on a bridge "Neeeegggggggaa-neeegggged"
I’m suppose to give af? Listen, great voice but the work to call a legend isn’t there. One great album doesn’t make a legend. In no Way is she an icon. The impact ain’t there. The talent doesn’t match the ego either
