they just go by how your voice sound and Brandy has always gotten hate for how she sounds

It’s easier to run into intonation problems Singing acapella unrehearsed like that if your ear isn’t trained well enough to stay in key.. plus brandy was being petty and throwing acrobatics everywhere, changing key signatures, switching between scales and shyt all throughout the set.. it can be a lil intimidating if your voice can’t keep up.

This the Booth. The energy here is always going to be geared toward hating rather than celebrating. This is evidenced by the fact that people still hold onto to the Jay/Nas beef with new threads discussing the same thing. Same with Biggie/Pac. breh, Monica’s intonation and that uneven goaty vibrato has always been woat lol.. if you a singer/musician then you know lol. you don’t even need a tuner to hear that she’s always veering off the center of the pitch. Runs always been labored and sloppy. her bread and butter has always been the clarity and richness of her natural tone and fullness of her voice.. aside from that, she don’t have the skill, musicianship or technique as others in her lane.

Yea but you’re dumbing yourself down. People who listen to brandy that actually sing or grew up on her music are looking for that technical, little intricate things that set brandy apart

I don’t even think brandy knows a normal way how to sing

She’d have to basically dumb herself down and hold back which you can’t do to natural instincts/talent

A lot of industry heads and singers are gay. And gay dudes love them some brandy and her runs. That's all they talk about. I dont know what it is but that's the common denominator I've seen. The average person doesn't care and judges the song as a whole. Yall right. and being correct technically when singing doesn't mean the song or singing is "good". With that said Brandy won this versus imo.

depends on the listener.. depends on the ears discerning the music. a lot of my casual music/consumers friends don’t get it either, but like I said musicians and vocalists/singers hear things different. It’s a reason why most of the RnB singers/vocalists or music producers praised and showered brandy with love for her vocal influence and contribution to the style of the genre during that time. You saw it throughout the verzuz. some ppl jus listen to what they like.. different strokes..
