You watch Kobe 82 games a season, they watch him 2-4 times a season. You tell meIf you are resorting to the "everyone else is saying it, it must be true" line, why would it be surprising if someone with a small fraction of the viewing time did the same thing?
Jennings has probably put up a statline like that 15-20 times this season but how many times was it talked about as stellar defense? Just once, because it was Kobe.
Anyone who has watched Kobe regularly knows he's not sweating much on the defensive side. However, the guys that are doing the dirty work on that side of the floor every night (Bradley, Sefolosha, T Allen, etc) won't really get mentioned unless it comes in a showcase game against someone like Kobe. Kobe has been a piss poor defender all year but after just two games of giving a shyt, he has already received more defensive acclaim this year than those other three guys combined just because of who he is. You're going to tell me things like that don't affect the voting?

There main assignment is to play defense. That's it. Kobe assignments is to do EVERYTHING. If Kobe only focused on defense for the rest of the season he would be the first name they bring up for "Defensive Player Of The Year".Kobe doesn't respect that Brewer guy....
