Coli militants really exposed themselves in this thread. All talk but can't even shop at another store if it inconveniences them. :winslow:

shop where? they all racist. we make up like 13% of a capitalistic majority white society. where do you suggest I get the electronics/food I need from? I support black where I can...but this is about self preservation. we need to get that through our heads first. I aint with all this boycotting shyt or I may as well walk around butt naked with no car and starve to death. I aint knocking the brother but at the same time...I am old. I am tired of organizing for the cause when black people aint gonna do shyt any damn way. any of us in here who dont agree or support this movement will be labeled c00ns, but thats ok. my daughter works for them. they are outside her job picketing as we speak. I dont like when people equate stuff like this to slavery. we have NO fukkin idea what our ancestors went through. if you work for Amazon, its clearly your choice. go somewhere else, take less wages, whatever. or stack your bread and get another job.

when the shutdown first came, we didnt leave our house but like one day a week. we ordered all our groceries from Amazon. I would say that kept us safe in the interim from going out and risking exposure.

if you want to say they build business in black neighborhoods, ok, they arent the only ones. you have to really prove they are specifically mistreating blacks or other people of color. its a lot of young people that work in the fulfillment center here, most of them dont have their head on straight or have any skills. likewise with the older people that work there, they have no skills or options. none of these people will be quitting though.

how about be accountable for yourself and make the best out of your situation? Amazon offers educational assistance and decent benefits. I tell my daughter, you are smart, use it for what it is worth...stack and get your education. (she is 19) we aint ryde or die for Amazon/Bezos over here. lol. and yes, they have been treating employees like shyt for a while. she doesnt complain....she likes it. her friend works there too and around here, $16 hr is good for kids just getting out of high school and still live at home as they both do.

where the center is here, there was a factory that employed hundreds of people (mostly of color or poor whites) and it burned down. Amazon took that spot and employs even more people. man, I aint sitting around here and telling all these folks to quit their job, much less in a pandemic. aint boycotting either because they are already cutting back hours, partly due to some of this stuff.

Don’t compare a job you have to slavery.

Why not? What’s the difference? You get paid? Slaves got paid too. They got a shytty hut to live in and the worst food. That was minimum wage back then.

Slavery isn’t about wages. Slavery is about control. As long as you are being controlled in exchange for basic living rights, you are a slave.

Don’t believe me, next time your boss tells you to do something tell them no. See how “free” you are then. :russ:

Amazon and warehouse workers in general better hurry up, get on code and unionize now before those illegals become legal and flood the market with shyt eating Mexicans that’ll happily work like dogs for pennies...

I’ve seen them vote out a union at a steel mill I was working at for a fukking 2 dollar an hour raise.

low skill jobs about to be much worse in the next few years. Doesn’t matter what you want as far as “better work conditions” if there’s a million people waiting for a job behind you that’ll take that or less...
Need to get rid of contract companies too

Well I agree with you there but the little guys will NEVER have the power to beat these rich cacs if they don't stick together. He can fire one guy, he can't fire the whole company. If every amazon worker said we not working till you meet our demands and amazon doesn't make money for a week in the entire country, those fakkits would do everything the workers want.

breh, Idk how old you are but i am about to turn 50. I seen and heard it all before. I think we need to focus our energy in other places...like group economics...for which the first thing you need in that equation is money. I WISH we could organize and shut Amazon down, but its not realistic. and I am not going to tell my family and friends to stop going to work and stand outside and protest when you can bet mostly no one else is going to do it. Amazon here employs HUNDREDS of people who were either unemployed or making about $5 hr less. man.....around here, that shyt saved some asses during this pandemic. My daughter and her friend got hired AFTER Feb or this year and she was getting unemployment at the time she got the job.

Won't matter in the grand scheme of things once Amazon gets the automation game on lock. It's coming and just a matter of win.

Sir, I mean this with all due respect. Amazon fulfillment centers are pure slavery. I lost years off my life working there.

cant co-sign the "slavery" comparisons. fukk no. when I worked in places just like it or worse, under hazardous conditions, much lower wages, no benefits, etc...but what can you do? I was in my 20's at the time and had to figure out what I wanted to do in life. I went back to school and got my skills up and never looked back. there are rural areas where blacks have select access to jobs and trust me they are worse than Amazon....but nikka, you can do your own landscaping, construction, etc..etc...there are so many things you can do to make money. people work at Amazon because they dont want to be entrepreneurs or they dont want to work at a much easier job but get paid $3-4 less. most people want to be told what to do and handed a check. where or who you work for is a choice. thats something slaves didnt have.

no one ever controlled me at a job. :camby: if I didnt want to do it, I know where the door is. they not gonna whip me, castrate me, chop half my foot, off, sick dogs on me, rape my wife, sell my kids or none of that shyt just cause I told them no. :dead: slavery is not something to make light of.
