Coli militants really exposed themselves in this thread. All talk but can't even shop at another store if it inconveniences them. :winslow:
shop where? they all racist. we make up like 13% of a capitalistic majority white society. where do you suggest I get the electronics/food I need from? I support black where I can...but this is about self preservation. we need to get that through our heads first. I aint with all this boycotting shyt or I may as well walk around butt naked with no car and starve to death. I aint knocking the brother but at the same time...I am old. I am tired of organizing for the cause when black people aint gonna do shyt any damn way. any of us in here who dont agree or support this movement will be labeled c00ns, but thats ok. my daughter works for them. they are outside her job picketing as we speak. I dont like when people equate stuff like this to slavery. we have NO fukkin idea what our ancestors went through. if you work for Amazon, its clearly your choice. go somewhere else, take less wages, whatever. or stack your bread and get another job.
when the shutdown first came, we didnt leave our house but like one day a week. we ordered all our groceries from Amazon. I would say that kept us safe in the interim from going out and risking exposure.
if you want to say they build business in black neighborhoods, ok, they arent the only ones. you have to really prove they are specifically mistreating blacks or other people of color. its a lot of young people that work in the fulfillment center here, most of them dont have their head on straight or have any skills. likewise with the older people that work there, they have no skills or options. none of these people will be quitting though.
how about be accountable for yourself and make the best out of your situation? Amazon offers educational assistance and decent benefits. I tell my daughter, you are smart, use it for what it is worth...stack and get your education. (she is 19) we aint ryde or die for Amazon/Bezos over here. lol. and yes, they have been treating employees like shyt for a while. she doesnt complain....she likes it. her friend works there too and around here, $16 hr is good for kids just getting out of high school and still live at home as they both do.
where the center is here, there was a factory that employed hundreds of people (mostly of color or poor whites) and it burned down. Amazon took that spot and employs even more people. man, I aint sitting around here and telling all these folks to quit their job, much less in a pandemic. aint boycotting either because they are already cutting back hours, partly due to some of this stuff.
