Why not? What’s the difference? You get paid? Slaves got paid too. They got a shytty hut to live in and the worst food. That was minimum wage back then.

Slavery isn’t about wages. Slavery is about control. As long as you are being controlled in exchange for basic living rights, you are a slave.

Don’t believe me, next time your boss tells you to do something tell them no. See how “free” you are then. :russ:

You can't be serious.....

no one ever controlled me at a job. :camby: if I didnt want to do it, I know where the door is. they not gonna whip me, castrate me, chop half my foot, off, sick dogs on me, rape my wife, sell my kids or none of that shyt just cause I told them no. :dead: slavery is not something to make light of.

You're looking at certain extreme elements of slavery. They won't whip you but they'll fire you, in which case you can't buy food, in which case you'll die.... Unless you find a new master to obey.

What time do you go to bed? Your job determines that. What time do you wake up? Your job determines that. When do you eat? Your job determines that. What clothes do you wear? Your job determines that.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. You're stuck in a slave state and don't even realize it which is the whole point of slavery. It's ALWAYS been mental. Slaves didn't wear chains because their mind was already locked down. Much like a dog who no longer needs a leash.

I'm not making light of anything, friend. You're in bondage and don't even know it. :snoop:

The difference is you signed a contract to have a boss to be able to tell you what to do. Ain’t no random person (other than the government) coming to your house to tell you what you have to do. Before you started that job, YOU DECIDED that you would be willing to take orders from others. Hell, when you applied for that job, you ASKED to take orders. That’s what 99% of jobs are. If you don’t want to do that, then you can try to start your own business and get your direction from consumers instead.

Slaves had zero choice. You either obeyed or fought. And if you fought, most of the time you died. You weren’t going to find a new slave owner or going to start your own plantation.

By your logic, everyone has always been slaves. Black, white and everything else.

YES!!! Most people in America are slaves. Capitalism is matured slavery. The natural "evolution" if you will.

White "sharecroppers" were essentially slaves who were treated better. They accepted this position out of fear of being treated like black people. They accepted their form of slavery because they knew there was a worse alternative. Much like slaves chose to pick cotton rather than be whipped. These are all choices, just shytty choices to choose from.

You think choosing which field you pick crops from makes you free? :heh: You still have no choice but to pick crops or die.

You tell yourself you have choices but you refuse to realize that your "choices" are all controlled and limited by a system. And no, I don't prescribe to that system. I wish my people could see the light too.

First, in this society you also have to option to go “start your own farm.” Sure there will be hurdles, but people start businesses everyday. It just takes a lot more work.

To your overall point... Ok, that’s fine. But what society doesn’t operate within this framework? There is no society, that I’m aware of, that gives you complete freedom. If you want to earn a living you either work for someone else, or you create your own business. Those are the two options? What is the alternative. There have to be “bosses” for a society that we expect to progress. Unfortunately bosses can be greedy, spiteful, arrogant, racist and bigots. But that’s because we’re humans. No matter what type of society you live in, that’ll be the case.

What is the alternative? It’s easy to point out the problem... but what is the solution? After the fighting and revolution, what does your new society look like?

But you’d rather be CYNICAL to the point where you start c00ning

Black employees make up the HIGHEST demographic employed in the warehouses

Our workforce data

AND FACE THE WORST TREATMENT

Bias, disrespect, and demotions: Black employees say Amazon has a race problem

Amazon workers say the company is plagued by systemic issues that disproportionately harm Black employees, according to a report

QUIT THE BULLSHYT
Correlation doesn't mean causation. Amazon treats it's workers like shyt. Period. Not because most of those workers are black means they're being singled out for bad treatment because they are black and there is a racial motive behind it. They're being treated like shyt because they work for Amazon.

To make it an issue of race minimizes the fukk shyt that Amazon is doing and comes off as downright manipulative and dishonest.

Humans have survived tens of thousands of years without capitalism. There are many other ways to run a society without exploiting people.

In Africa there is a term called Ubuntu. It roughly means "I am because we are." The TRUTH is we are all connected, and our purpose in life is to look out for each other. The resources belong to EVERYONE. Socialism is a much more human approach. Capitalism is based on greed and exploitation. How we take care of our families, with love, is how we should take care of everyone. But capitalism breeds disdain as well as everyone is simply out for self.

Black people need to move far away from these devilish ideals. Stop trying to be Amerikkkan. This wasn't built for us, nor should we want to be a part of it. We know FIRSTHAND what Amerikkka is.

Amazon and warehouse workers in general better hurry up, get on code and unionize now before those illegals become legal and flood the market with shyt eating Mexicans that’ll happily work like dogs for pennies...

I’ve seen them vote out a union at a steel mill I was working at for a fukking 2 dollar an hour raise.

low skill jobs about to be much worse in the next few years. Doesn’t matter what you want as far as “better work conditions” if there’s a million people waiting for a job behind you that’ll take that or less...

Sounds like story of NYC housing as well

You need to LISTEN to what he has to say.

Amazon literally underpays black workers and exploits them to the highest degree. They open up in predominantly black areas because they know they can pay them the bare minimum and work them like slaves.

They did not provide any equipment during the pandemic to black workers at all. When everyone was ordering package - you had people literally changed to the assembly line not given masks or gloves. White workers were treated much better than black workers.

Hell for a company that saw exponential growth due to COVID they still pay their employees less than a livable wage and work them like slaves.

He does not have to work for Amazon.
I’m not boycotting shyt because he did not develop skills to make more money.
Both valid points. It's not just Amazon.

The simple answer is,, don't take unsafe minimum wage paying jobs.. I know jobs that'll hire you and pay you just as little in safer working conditions and I've often question people older than 21 that work those jobs. I would never let my kids work for Amazon, UPS, Cricket, boost mobile when Footlocker, nightstocker for heb and ChicK-filA are hiring without a hs diploma. Unless you live in NY or LA where it's hard to get a job and those jobs will hire you for nothing.

Sir, I mean this with all due respect. Amazon fulfillment centers are pure slavery. I lost years off my life working there.

was someone forcing you to stay there?

were you ever physically or sexually abused there?

did you get a pay check?

Are you a weak fukk trying to compare your job to chattel slavery?

And those systems evolved into what we have now. I don't know why you all try to mythologize some bygone era that never really existed.
