:whoa::whoa::whoa:

Calm down, the only connection I'm trying to make is that, Broner's trash talking isn't exclusive to jocking Mayweather...

Maybe it's dominant trait(gene), that great fighters have :ld:

Its not the trash talkin that hes liftin off Floyd its the mannerism and intricacies and how he acts that is Floyd-esque. The difference is Floyd has amore natural charisma, while Broner comes off as tryin way too hard to be charismatic.

He's the real deal. The thing is he fought down to Rees's level last night which made it more competitive than it should have been, but he still overwhelmed dude like in a few rds. Dude is more of a showmen than Floyd was. You gotta give credit to Rees too, because he actually went after Broner and gave a good effort instead of sitting back and getting dominated.

Boxing needs guys like Broner. nikkas who talk shyt, and actually try to put hands on dudes. He's more like James Toney than Floyd in that aspect, except that Toney had more of a mean streak in his personality.

Broner just needs the right opponent to shoot him into superstardom. If he were to beat Gamboa and say a Brandon Rios this year he'll pretty much be there.

I'm a big fan of the Ali playbook for selling seats and I really want to like this kid but he takes it too far with his antics...The shimmying after KD'ing dudes is beyond classless and needs to stop asap...He is embarrassing us with that shyt and his jokes are always corny as fukk...

I'm also tired of hearing this dude being compared to Floyd...Floyd never was just speed and reflexes, he is a pure tactician...Aside for the shoulder roll they are nothing alike...Broner takes too many punches and is overly offensive minded...He is getting away with it because there is no one at 135 to test him unlike Floyd who was fighting HOF'ers at LW...

Broner is cut more from Zab's cloth, they share the same instincts and skill set...Zab had them Fast hands with power always looking like a beast against C level fighters he can beat to the punch and overwhelm but he had no intelligence when it came to boxing...He got exposed when he fought a tactician he couldn't offensively overwhelm in Kostya Tszyu...I fear the same fate for Broner...

Also Floyd had a fanbase before he adopted the money monicker and he always slips out of character to reveal his humble self after a fight...Broner has always been on that dumb ignorant embarrassing shyt...Dude needs to grow up and learn how to defend himself better...

Another thing that is slept on is his accuracy with his punches.... Dude is like a machine :wow:

Indeed ! That footwork and balance :cook: is key. Thats the one thing that really reminds me of young Floyd Mayweather, the way he is able to find almost the perfect postition to throw punches from and counter and he makes em count.

I don't see or get all the Zab comparisons.

Zab was a beast no doubt on his way up, but he still had those mental lapses going on during fights. Broner is way more focused than Zab and actually sticks to a game plan during a fight. If Zab couldn't blast you out of their in the 1st half he'd gradually fall apart during the 2nd half or just do enough to win. Broner has way more ring smarts and boxing ability than Zab. If he was like Zab he wouldn't have went the distance with Ponce De Leon and that was a close competitive scrap too. Either guy could have taken it so I don't see how Broner got a gift. It depend on what you prefer. Broner had more clean punching while De Leon was more effective aggressively.

The bold is not true at all...Why are you acting like Zab was incapable of going the distance? He went the distance with a good pressure fighter in Micky Ward for his first belt...So what makes you think a 23 year old Zab couldn't do it against a 31 year old C level fighter like Ponce De Leon?

Broner isn't really all that great, just over-hyped. Broner's defense has always been suspect and his reflexes/parrying aren't good, gets hit way too easy, especially when in a defensive shell or moving.

The lightweight division is also weak with sub-par competition which makes Broner seem much better than he is, but to his credit Broner's world class speed and power as a puncher helps him overcome opponents but if he moves up to another weight class or fights a decent counterpuncher with a little speed (Gavin Rees made Broner look sloppy last night, just had no power to do any damage to hurt Broner) and power it's over for Broner.

I never said Zab can't go the distance, it's just that he hardly ever looks good in doing so. How often we ever see Zab dominate someone for 12 rds? Not much.

and further more...Zab beat Ward for a regional title. Ward never ever won a world title. Don't let his great action fights fool you into thinking he's better than he actually is.

Ponce De Leon >> Micky Ward. Ponce De Leon actually won a world title and has defended it too. shyt he just beat Jhonny Gonzales not too long ago to capture another title. Ward is the definition of a C-Level fighter, yet you calling Ponce De Leon one :what:
