It's also planned to be released nearly 40 years to the day too. If you count thursday previews, then it is being released on the same day as the first one.
Doesn't mean anything really breh. It will be the third star wars movie in 17 months. It wont feel as special or be as much of an event.

They are going to run the risk of diluting the franchise.

Of course the episodes are going to do huge business there just wont be as much of a frenzy.

This was the first star wars movie of the social media era and it even had basic bytches who have probably never seen a star wars movie rushing to go see it and posting about it

But my point is 5 months after rogue one we get episode 8.

Casuals will probably be like another one? :what:

It will do huge numbers but it'll probably be similar to Avengers age of Ultron not doing as well as the first one

I think it will get that iron man 3 and thor stimulus package and top out at 500k depending on what else drops at the time. They might hit a billy too if they include some new Vader scenes:ohhh:

:mjlol::russ:

The movie just doubled the Christmas record and slaughter 5 new opening films. We are looking at our first Billion Dollar Domestic film if it continues on this path. So "Avatar" and "Titanic" are going down. Now Worldwide we have to see cause "Titanic" did 2.2 Billion, "Avatar" did 2.7 Billion. But Star Wars has crossed 1 billion Worldwide in 10 days.

"Rouge One" is litterally a spin off with characters we don't know. They may try to sqeeze Vader in there to try and sell tickets but they don't expect it to make Big Money like the Episodes. We are 1 year from Rouge One and they didn't even drop a trailer. They don't even have to start to promote "Episode VIII" until like 6-7 months out because they will still be eating off "Episode VII" when it drops on home video. If Rouge One does something like 150-200 Domestic and over 500 Worldwide that would be a success for a spinoff. I don't expect "HUGE" numbers from "Rouge One" but it will have the "Star Wars" Brand. As long as the trailer is dope it could still do well but not "Episodes" well. The only spin-offs that have potential to make Big money are "Han Solo" and if they do a "Yoda" Film or a solo Obi film with Ewan reprising the role.

rogue one won't break records but best believe they are going to put a lot of vader and maybe even a little emperor in there.

Theres a debate over whether rogue one will make as much money as this?:mjlol: Stop it. This was/is an event. This is the first Star Wars movie in a decade and the first sequel in 30 years. The novelty will wear off and they'll just go to be "successful" rather than "historically successful"

I dont feel like searching the web, but I assume we will get a new Star wars each year for this trilogy?

And what is all of this Darth Vadar talk? I thought he was dead? I`m not into the series like that so forgive my ignorance.

Rogue one is the story of how the rebels obtained the plans for the first death star so theoretically, Vader could be in that one since he's still alive in that timeline.

And yeah new star wars every year, alternating between the universe stories and the episodes. So next year, Rogue One, 2 years from now, Episode 8, then 3 year from now, another spin off, the han solo one i think and then after that, episode 9
