And will prolly only be beaten by ANOTHER Star Wars film :wow:

Yep, I don't see "Bats V Supes", "Civil War" or any of the "Avatar" Sequels breaking this record. "Episode VIII" drops May 2017 on the 40th Anniversary of the original. So there is a chance "Episode VIII" might do even better than "Episode VII" but it's going to be hard. Sequels don't normally outgross the first movie in Star Wars. "Hope" outgrossed "Empire and Jedi". "Menace" outgrossed "Clones and Sith".

George and Steven ruling the box office without even directing. LOL.

shyt, the latest Hunger Games Part 2 made less than Part 1
It helps when the movies aren't released so close together. Those flicks are coming out every other year if not every year. Star Wars will taper off with the next couple. Civil War won match AOU, well maybe. Besides TDK which was also beat by TDKR. But those films were spaced a good four years apart. The closer together the more they seem to drop.

But the fact that more people saw Part 1 is just :dwillhuh:

Why watch the first part and not the second?

Very impressive :wow:

Still can't believe the numbers Jurassic World pumped out to be #2. Still is still crazier to me :mindblown: Hell I saw it in the theatre too but it was one of those "feel like watching a movie, pick any popcorn flick" type of decision.

Disney going to recoup more than half on this flick alone :whew:

Yeah, Jurassic World will never make sense to me. I mean I understand, it appeals to a wide audience and people of all ages, but for so many people to see it opening weekend? That kind of hype? Really?
