On page 291 and this shyt is getting good. Imma start reading it in the day time and a little bit earlier before bed. Cause then 50 pages at night be a fight to push through. The Jackal character does feel like a trope. Gotta see where they geaux with this tho.

Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream

The not so 'short story' from King's You Like It Darker collection which apparently has the general consensus of being the creme de la creme of the stories.

I'm not completely finished yet so I can't speak to that but I will say it was a captivating read. Nice little blend of reality vs supernatural & showing the wear and tear both ways that obsession will weight a mf down. A heavy dose of "belief" themes and shyt but you buy into it with the Danny character.

Some say Outsider vibes but idk. Still haven't read that yet & only watched the show.

I wanna keep reading it....since 100 pages is the 1st part and I'm not sleepy yet ..but 80 pages in one sitting is a lot for just starting a book day 1 fresh off the heels of finishing a book last night.

But y'all never lied...Book 2 is amazing.

Bank robbery goes wrong and turns into a "hostage situation". We learn about all the characters and how some are connected to one another. Dope premise but the writing was too cringe for me. 2.5/5

I think they turned this into a netflix show...i have no interest in watching

Chronicles of the Black Company is the only other series remotely close to this in terms of style




After you read both there's nothing left but sadness

Breh....this book is a page turner and the main character isn't a Mary Sue....Idk how folks labeled him a Mary Sue

204 pages in and I'm at the boring part of a story the set up for the next near the ending of a part II. These people can't be trusted at all and I'm just like who will betray who? The main character has to learn to kill people who commit treason and stop being so forgiving.

Earth is in trouble and a guy wakes up from a coma on a space mission, and we learn why hes there and how he can help earth. This story kinda been done before, (the author wrote The Martian). I thought it was cool, but too much scientific jargon for me and not enough interesting characters. Plot twist was kind of predictable, but the ending was good.

If you're into physics and light speed relativity, this probably is a 4/5 for you.

I finished the first book for the broken earth trilogy; the Fifth season. It was fire, started kind of slow but the twist in the end had me jumping like crazy.

My girl's gonna lend me the 2nd book, I can't wait to start.

I was looking at some post on Reddit and it's funny how posters were saying they love the writing but the characters were unlikeable and I guess they couldn't relate to them... I understand now everyone can relate to oppressed people


I seen lots of mentioned of Schaffa "imagine a racist black cop who enjoys hurting and teaching black children that their blackness is evil" being one of the only likeable characters
