I have been sitting in The Martian for a while now. Might hop on it this weekFinished a couple books lately. First was "If We Were Villains" by M.L. Rio. It started off pretty good but devolved into trash about halfway through and the ending is stupid. Would not recommend.
"Hail Mary" by Andy Weir was terrific. He's the guy who wrote "The Martian," which was also great. Another sci-fi space story that's being made into a movie with Ryan Gosling as the main character.
If you're into sci-fi at all, you'll like it. There's quite a bit of real science in there too.I have been sitting in The Martian for a while now. Might hop on it this week
How strongly do you recommend this series?
The sixth title in The Horus Heresy: Primarchs series, focusing on Fulgrim, primarch of the Emperor's Children Legion.
Lord of Chemos and bearer of the Palatine Aquila, Fulgrim, primarch of the Emperor’s Children, is determined to take his rightful place in the Great Crusade, whatever the cost. A swordsman without equal, the Phoenician has long studied the art of war and grows impatient to put his skills, and those of his loyal followers, to a true test. Now, accompanied by only seven of his finest warriors, he seeks to bring a rebellious world into compliance, by any means necessary. But Fulgrim soon learns that no victory come without cost, and the greater the triumph, the greater the price one must pay...
You just about nailed it with the bolded. Going in I thought it was adult fiction but it's a YA book in disguise and I HATE YA writing YA writing tends to be very self centered and pretentious and that shyt bleeds all throughout Red RisingReally? What don’t you like about it, I mean at first I thought it was a little YA, but I genuinely think now that PB is an excellent writer.
I'm loving her works
