Only touched on the intro so far but he basically picked up from (and expanded upon) Maslow's Hierarchy and where it was when Maslow passed away. The gist I have so far is that Maslow's Hierarchy says that we should achieve self actualization, which some critics saw it as a selfish motivator to the behest of society... however, Maslow started to write about how Self-Actualization leads to a more fulfilled person who has all that they need in life so then strives to better their community :jbhmm:

The author takes those notes and builds upon them in this book
