The intro to East 1999 is indicative of the corny spots of the album. And if the east coast is "a bubble" it's THE bubble as hip hop is it's offspring. Prior to Hip Hop's demise the east coast was building upon the indigenous blueprint laid by the architects. Any other interpretations are just that. Most are perversions. 4-5 guys speed rappin' & harmonizing over castlevania/zelda keys about the occult and violence is some alt rap that netted mad gateway fans. don't try and crowbar Bone into a HIP HOP discussion if YOU are a gangsta rap child with a limited scope of the roots of this shyt. Bellyache all you want. If you don't have a working understand of New York City hip hop you aren't fit to engage in anything relating to all time.

Nah... but regardless of where youre from your musical taste shows youre on the dikk of the east. Theres nikkaz like that everywhere, but they just dont make up the most of hip hop listeners. E1999 2nd release had probably the biggest single in hip hop history. and youre comparing it to some local NY albums
My tastes run the gamut. And you are right - people nationwide love the East Coast sound. And outside of the core audience, most listeners are causal fans or suburban white kids. They don't really matter. Anybody that gets above gold is selling to casual/white fans. Ain't nothing wrong with that - but Bone having a big single comes from that. As does any artist. Wu and Mobb were not local.

Ny heads live and grew up in an absolute fukking bubble

Breed and quik are going platinum, let these guys tell it brand nubian was a bigger act

East 1999 is a much more universal classic than any wu joint, everyone fukked with bone on that one
You can't rely on just sales. And E.1999 appealed to more casual fans and white suburban kids - not cause Bone did anything to appel to those fans, but that's just what it is.

Maynes... I think I qualify as a non-biased hip hop listener, and certainly not on the dikk of the east... The Score was a great fukkin album... and truthfully I'd prolly kill Wyclef or Pras if they stepped foot on my doorstep. Especially Wyclef after I bought that bullshyt ass Carnival tape. That shyt is still on Lake Shore Drive somewhere.

:russ: thats what im saying :russ: how in the fukk the people on this forum think wu tang more known/popular than bone thugs n harmony to me is fukkin :mindblown:

back then people talked with album sales (different than now) and bone thugs came n crushed wu tang buildings in the 90s... and even in the 2000s :russ:

People talkin about Wu Tang got a more cult following :rudy: how come none of their albums push over 100k sales then :rudy: Bone Thugs N Harmony can at least say theyve gone gold even in this horrible sales times, because unlike Wu Tang they got a real cult following, but I guess wu tang sells more t-shirts :stopitslime:

and we aint even talkin about songs and actual rapping where bone thugs is 100x better than wu tang at
No one is saying that they sold more records or were more "popular". Just that the music is better. Lol at mush mouth bone being better rappers than Meth, Rae, Gza, Ghost and Deck.

than Em or Wu? they have sold more than Wu (as a group, maybe if you include all the Wu solos they might be closer) but Em has sold more than Bone
Yeah I meant Wu - more sales = more casual/white suburban fans.

even with all the Wu solos i think Bone has sold way more, Bone has sold something like 35 million albums, i remember they were neck & neck with Pac for a while for most sales (prob world wide)

All Eyez wasn't a flop. Depends on what you mean by impact - Gza definitely made the better album.
