Of course the ATL
This is the one series I want to spam the PnR to the max

Yep. And it can be different guys in on the action. Doesn’t just have to be Trae, it could be Bogi or Lou or Kevin attacking Joel going to the basket. Just can’t let him rest on defense

On another note, I know Nate has slowed us down, but I’d like to see us get out and run a few more times a game if possible. We’ve got the athletes and team to do it especially if that’s gonna negate Joel’s impact in the series. Now if he’s on the bench I don’t want to run if Simmons is on the court since thats the best part of his game but I trust Nate and the staff to look at ways they can test Joel, get him tired, foul trouble, etc

Offensively, we need to P&R as much as possible as y'all have said, but we also need either Bogi and/or Hunter to be the real 2nd option. We'll be looking for John to show he's worth that check like always.

Defensively, I would cross-match like:

Trae- Danny Green
Bogi- Seth
De'Andre- J. Cole
John- Ben
Capela- Dwight

Seth is the key to their offense to me, as he'll hit a lot more of his shots than Bullock did with Trae on him. Bogi's length should disrupt him more than Trae's defense could be taken advantage of by Green. John just has to keep Ben out the paint.

I would cut Gallo's minutes back in favor of OO too. He earned those minutes last series and Gallo shot terribly. I'd rather keep John at PF and off Dwight as much as possible.

We need to mix up Gallo, Hunter, Hill, and JC as much as possible.

Agreed but I slightly disagree with you on Gallo/OO. Gallo in Atlanta was great, not so much in NYK. I like OO getting minutes behind Clint as the main rim protector but OO & Gallo have different roles. I need OO to play like he did last night where we get hustle plays, amazing effort and heart. If he scores it’s almost a bonus. With Gallo he should score 10-15 a night and as a big man he can pull the opposing big man from the basket, shoot 3’s and we can run offense through him. They should actually both be on the court at the same time with the second unit but I wouldn’t sacrifice Gallo over OO straight up. We need Gallo’s scoring and creativity on offense

I feel you, and you're absolutely right that they have different roles. OO, Gallo, and CC all have pretty defined roles. John is the only one who doesn't, as he has to go from stretch 4 to defensive anchor 5 depending on who he's on the court with. We've talked for YEARS about how much I hate John at the 5.

I feel we're better off with him staying at the 4 and being a floor stretcher alongside OO with Bogi/Kev being the initiator than we are with him tryna anchor the defense while Gallo shoots long ISO post turnaround shots and out of rhythm 3s.

I'm not saying cut Gallo out of the rotation, as he does have value regardless and he could throw everything I'm saying out the window if he gets hot, but I think he should be seen as a bonus like Lou Will is moreso than the 2nd unit's focal point.

So if we have to face an Embiid less Sixers team how do you see us attacking/defending them?

Curry
Green
Thybulle
Harris
Simmons

Bench:

Dwight
Mike Scott
Maxey
Korkmaz
Hill

Defensively I feel much better about guarding this lineup for 48 minutes especially in the half court. Simmons is only shooting within 15 ft so Clint can either sag off and still roam the paint and own the boards. I’d put Hunter on Harris, John on Thybulle, Trae on Green, Bogi on Curry. I don’t feel like this is a lineup that is going to consistently threaten us offensively

Defensively Philly is very good and has numerous guys who they will throw at Trae (Thybulle, Hill, Simmons, Green). I don’t see that working for long stretches though especially depending on who the roll man is (Cap or JC) are gonna run wide open to the rim on lobs. Philly will have to pick their poison. Trae dancing in the lane with floaters/lobs or shooting them out the gym

Didn’t wanna mention this but in two games vs Philly Trae averaged 38 & 8 per 36 minutes. Not that matters now but just to say he’s had success vs Philly

Sixers brehs how do y’all see it playing out

They suck without Embiid. The names are fine but they don't really fit all that well without Joel. The Knicks are clearly better than the Sixers without Embiid. Embiid is what makes Philly a beast team. Without him, this is a Mickey Mouse verison of the Clippers that had Gallo, Lou, and Harrell.

The rim protection with Ben was bad last night. But the key was the offensive was quick and fast pace. Ben with 3 shooters and a slasher can work. I think they’ll try to get Tobias and whoever Trae’s guarding in P&R action to force Trae to guard. On defense I would expect Matisse to guard him. Matisse has to be very selective with his gambles against Trae because Trae is crafty and knows how to use a defenders aggressiveness against them. But doc could throw Danny on Trae.

I would expect whoever has Capela to roam a bit as I’d rather that then help off Bogi and the shooters.

I think the best thing about Gallo is that he’s a size mismatch and his ball handling ability against bigs forces them out the paint. So he has value in shot creation and we can run offense through him in the high post or low post. He’s a key part of the bench and he’s a necessity for this team as currently constructed. I wouldn’t feel comfortable relegating him like Lou because Lou is very hit or miss. Lou’s best attribute is shot making and if he’s not doing that then he doesn’t offer much value anywhere else

As for John, depending on the line up, especially if Simmons is at the 5, you might see us use a smaller lineup (Trae/Bogi/Huerter/Hunter/JC). I’m not a fan of JC at 5 either but it might give us more flexibility for small stretches against that Philly lineup

Nah I don’t see that. Now they may not play well vs us but on paper Philly minus Embiid is a better lineup than NYK at full strength. Tobias, Simmons are better players than anyone on the Knicks. Seth and Danny Green are better shooters than anyone on the Knicks as well. Without Embiid this will still be a competitive series

You’re so misinformed that it’s not even worth debating, you don’t get to be the number 1 seed without playing good without Embiid, we literally have to do it every season for large stretches of time, Ben Simmons has never lost to the Knicks in his entire career

But please continue to underestimate us

Steven A said on First Take that there's already a contract waiting on Nate McMillan from the Hawks once the season ends and He will be the Hawks coach for the foreseeable future.

Edit: Resign Solo also. Bruh can play the Udonis Haslem role for us.

Solo’s sole purpose here is to be a goon :wow:
