Finally. Don't understand why'd he do this with Alfredo but not this initial release.
99% sure because Gibbs is in charge of his releases. Gibbs did a pre-order for Bandana too. If it drops through Gibbs label then Gibbs does pre-orders.

But Fetti dropped through ALC records so that was how Al usually does. Limited quantity.

but now that he’s had a big 2020 and so many people are frustrated about missing out, it looks like he’s about to change things up and go on more traditional pre-order route himself.

it’s a win:win. More money. Less frustrated fans.

At the end of Giant Slide when his boy is talking about the pale moonlight line....it’s so crazy because that’s the first song I ever heard from Boldy and I had the same reaction his friend had:wow:

Such a shame we never got a Boldy James X Chuck Inglish project:mjcry:

Late on this joint man I had a few tracks pop up in my Spotify radio when I let joints run out

THIS is where I heard Boldy first. Dude flipped out on this joint. Thought he came and went, realizing this joint was the same dude was crazy :wow:

Al laced this and Boldy still a beast. Glad I stopped sleeping

Couple updates from a recent Boldy podcast.

- The OG name of this album was Alcazarsar
- Harry Fraud and Boldy did a 6-7 track project
- Jay-Z met Boldy this year and said "your pen game is nice" and said Tea in China is maybe his album of the year
- Boldy might do some work with Black Milk
- He has a track with Jadakiss on WSG's new album

We might be getting a follow up to this. :wow:

From an interview yesterday on Complex

Complex: I know you're in the studio right now. What are you working on?

Boldy James: I'm finishing this new Alchemist project. I just finished, of course, The Versace Tape. I got some records in the stash that I previously worked on with Gunn, and Harry Fraud sent me a couple of tracks. I just did something with Spitta.

Whoa I would love to hear Boldy over some lush beats like what Harry Fraud did on cigarette boats. The joint he did on Alchemist's Yacht Rock album was crazy to me.
:wow:

Boldy talks about Jay-Z being a big fan, Al helping finesse the Griselda deal, making Tea in China, another project dropping with Al (maybe this year) how he viewed Tea in China as coming out of retirement, the Manger on McNichols album, the Versace tape, etc.

Interestingly he says for the Versace Tape it was basically all put together by Westside Gunn ahead of time. 100%. He just wanted Boldy to spit on it as is, and that’s what Boldy did. He said he only met Jay Versace one time.

He said for Tea in China that he’d record verses and Al would do a Dr. Dre style of continuing to produce, build, and add to the beat after the fact, which is rare for Al.

That Versace joint was kinda mid brehs
I think so too. Makes a lot more sense after the interview I just posted above. Westside picked all the beats ahead of time and just used Boldy basically as a hired gun (no pun intended) to rap over them. He said he only met Jay Versace one time.

He said he and Alc have another project ready to go. He said he's not big into naming things part 2, but that he likes the Tea in China name so much that they might call it that. And he said he might drop it before 2021 as a "buzzer beater" to close out the year. edit: @savoutch thought you might want that info so I tagged you.
