They call me Bo Jack because I run pills and I dump base
Whole battle was an uphill climb, nikka had to grind it out like the front brakes

:wow:
You know I got real disinterested in punchlines for a while in the 2010's, but I really like Boldy's punchline game. I like he doesn't lean too heavily on them, puts them in just the right places, and they're clever without being overly try-hard.

There was an era where everyone was using them every other bar, or coming up with way too complicated ones, and it just got really stale to me. Boldy's one of the best current guys still using them.

This is why I mess with Boldy. He's a clever dude for real with a good command of literary techniques and a vocab (both in the dictionary and slang :pachaha:). Pay attention to his choice of words, he gotta be a bookworm in real life. You really don't know what he's about to say next.

This ended up being my most played track on Spotify this year. The casualness that he goes ballistic on this joint :damn:

Love that you chose this joint. I slept on this real hard when Boldface first dropped. The flow and cadence he has on here is crazy. Like you said too, his voice sounds so relaxed compared to how difficult the rhyme pattern is. :wow: This and First Offense are my favorite 2 off of Boldface. I threw Ocean Prime on there as a bonus too. It matches the vibe of First Offense and they sound good together.

Boldy snapped on 300 Fences. The layers of the production on Hot Water Tank is crazy. Real spooky melodic joint. It’s crazy how some shyt Alc produced feels like a real score. I was watching a Christmas carol movie a couple days ago. I swear I wouldn’t be shocked if Alc sample the score when the ghost of Christmas future appears. shyt was crazy eerie.

Only listen to this a few times. I like Bo Jackson more but this is great cohesive project.

I actually like dude's verse :yeshrug:. I immediately thought of Danny Brown when I heard his voice.

I actually thought it was Danny Brown til I checked the tracklist. :pachaha:

Never been the biggest fan of Danny Brown, but he's a good artist overall and a good change of pace artist, I feel the same about this dude.

A good contrast from the understated and monotone voice of Boldy

Yeah most producers who I've studied tend to say the same shyt. 9th said he heard that Pete Rock has a 3 beats per day rule and so he decided to try and do 5 a day etc. Pretty much all the best producers follow the same pattern ... knwxledge and madlib too .... just create 24/7 whenever they can. I remember Madlib being asked a question about how he does it having kids to look after and he just said something like, she does all that, I just sit there with my headphones in doing my thing.

I make my own beat tapes also and I tried to follow 3 per day rule and for me its hard because unless I find a sample I absolutely am feeling then I wont want to make the beat. But its all about getting your 10,000 hours in I guess ... plus making beats with samples you dont feel 100% can end up working in your favor.

These dudes are a massive inspiration in many ways.
I make beats and man...sometimes the inspiration is fleeting. I'll have stretches where I'm going crazy and then others where I can't get shyt going...like I'll find a sample and then start getting in my own head too much and end up just looping a couple bits and calling it a day

"Bumps and bruises" is just :wow:

I'm enjoying these short albums from Nas and Boldy. Can hit play, take the dog for a walk and the albums done by the time I get home.

Replay value is crazy on both of them as well.

This could be my favourite Boldy project. Alc did the damn thing on these beats.

Every time I peep this I’m always thinking this joint would of been one of the most fire joints on Bo Jackson for most the tracks. Everything on here would of fit perfectly on Bo Jackson tbh & arguably some of the better beats are on Super Techmo. I’m just thankful we got this, I love how ominous sounding some of the tracks on here are

I hear you 100% .. I have the exact same problem man

I end up getting in my head way too much and put aside crazy beats because I've heard them so many times and think its wack. Then one of my boys will hear and say nah you absolutely fukking tripping, this is fire.

I found that the best way to get around this is to just constantly put beats together, like aim at hitting 3 a day regardless of whether you feel it or not, you dont even have to complete them just loop them a couple times and leave it if you must. If you do that for long enough you will learn to not dwell on beats for too long and you could come back to a beat a week or two later and be like yo, thats fire, I was on to something, and complete it then.

Send me a link to your music if you can, I'd like to check it out.

Boldy is the product of a timeline if Jay never decided to sell out after RD and continued making quality music.

A lot the tracks on this cut are heavily reminiscent of his style when he wasn’t trying to chase commercial recognition

but he came back with American gangster:noah::noah::noah:
