To add on to everyone else's comments, who is feeling this post Some Rap Songs Earl? This flow is brutal.

It's so off-kilter and strange that I don't mind it with the eeriness of the sample, and it's sandwiched between two other really dope verses. However...I couldn't take much more of it. I would definitely not want to hear multiple songs from Earl and Alchemist if they all sounded like this.

Earl definitely went too far left for my taste after I Don't Like shyt I Don't Go Outside.

Earl is the ultimate contrarian type. I liked about half of Some Rap Songs but when he leans into the drumless beats, amelodic samples and druggy slow offbeat flows he loses me. It feels like he's trying to be different and subvert expectations to be contrarian. And his hipster fans eat it up like candy. Waste of potential IMO.

I feel like if ALC gave him a batch of beats, he'd pick the worst ones just because they're the worst ones

I liked earls verse on photographic memories, he does such a good job of painting a picture, its abstract but fitting in my opinion.. he finds the balance well, he definitely has a way with words and I think the flow was dope

Photgraphic memories is easily my favorite song on the album

I enjoy Earl post some rap songs, but I would like some of his songs to be more orthodox..kind of like I dont like shyt I dont go outside... However the eccentric shyt he does isn't offputting to me.

Its cool but it would be better if every damn song wasn't like that, plus the mixing could be better imo

He's been listening to a bunch of Akai Solo and Billy Woods. SRS is a classic to me personally. That whole sound collage, SP404 is my favorite style rn. MIKE the GOAT :wow:

Last few years, only song I've been a fan of was E. Coli. Need Al to talk some sense into him.
E. Coli was dope. And honestly it sounded so different to everything else Earl was dropping at that time that I've always suspected it was an older song that they ended up releasing later on.

Edit: In fact I'm pretty sure it was. I wanna say Earl fans were happy that it finally came out because they'd heard it at live shows before

The songs with mechanical production brought the album down a notch, a similar situation with M1CS where the album was back heavy with a consecutive onslaught of colorless tracks , boldy needs expressive samples to contrast with his deadpan vocal approach. The Turpentine/Steel Wool juxtaposition is the perfect example of this

Boldy is easily the best in the game, one of the few if not only albums I’ve checked out this year
