Still in RDS? Price action not looking so meager at the moment. For those of you who are learning or want to learn about chart analysis using candlesticks: Learning Center - Candlestick Patterns
This guide is meant mainly for their platform but you can gain a general understanding of candlestick patterns and which ones are bearish/bullish. When I get the time tomorrow I'll probably hop onto thinkorswim and try the stuff out, maybe even make some high value trades using my unrealistic PaperTrade account.
On my realistic account I've been gaining from 0.2-0.8% per day off of my meager holdings of RDS/A and XOM. I started it with $2500 worth of funds and wanted to see what kind of growth I could get from it. If I liquidate now I'm up to about $2620. What I need to do is add another couple hundred bucks in there to simulate monthly deposits. Within a few weeks I'm going to pull my initial investment out of those two stocks and let the remainder keep working, then find something else to get into for a few months. Not exactly long term but the more trades you make the more comfortable you'll get. When I first opened the account I bought like $18k worth of UPS before the holiday season got into full swing. I also put probably $12k into some biotech stocks that didn't pan out. I'd watch obsessively switching between throughout the day. I'm training myself to forget about the market for a couple of days at a time so I don't fall into that emotional investor category.
Yeah for the time being. It's been rising a couple of tenths of a percentage each day, sometimes losing a little. I haven't paid too much attention to it lately. XOM on the other hand feels more volatile. Sometimes it has a lot of positive movement and then other days it drops. However I'm still positive in the P/L YTD.Still in RDS? If you caught EFX at its low back on the 9/14 . I ran a quick analysis on a trade I considered; 22@90.00 would have made around $331 if sold today and like $375 yesterday. If you had money to play with, 1000@90.00 could have netted you a touch over $13,000 today and I think it was in the mid $14,000s yesterday.
My order to sell RDS/A went through this morning for -28@60.00. I still hold 3 shares of that and 2 of XOM. I'm eyeing FGP and RD because they have some earnings estimates coming up within the next few weeks. They're cheap as hell but consequently don't have a lot of potential upside.
You know that's what I thought too but the news dropped this morning, like 15 minutes before trading opened, that the CEO was booted. I figured it would take a bit of a dive but even though it opened lower than yesterday's close, it's up on the day. Then again the saga isn't over and you guys are playing with real money so it's still up in the air.Regret not grabbing EFX, but I still think it takes another big drop once the news cycles back around to it.
