So they're going to nail apple on that bullshyt they pull in Ireland?

Apple Ordered by EU to Repay $14.5 Billion in Irish Tax Breaks

Mr. Cook fired back that “The European Commission has launched an effort to rewrite Apple’s history in Europe, ignore Ireland’s tax laws and upend the international tax system in the process.”

The U.S. Treasury Department has sharply criticized the EU’s tax investigations, arguing that the bloc unfairly targets American companies and acts inconsistently with international tax norms.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson said the Treasury Department was disappointed with the commission’s decision and reiterated that “retroactive tax assessments by the commission are unfair, contrary to well-established legal principles, and call into question the tax rules of individual Member States.”

I highly doubt Apple will pay anywhere near the $13-14.5 billion that they are demanding. Treasury Dept has their back and Ireland has filed an appeal. Ireland is going to suffer tremendously if they lose their 'tax' businesses.

Apparently whatever they have to pay will all fall under the foreign tax credit for apple. Theyll get a dollar back for every dollar they have to pay.

Ex: our tax rate is 35% for corporations. If i make $100 in Ireland and i pay 5% on it there, i pay the other 30% in america. So i just deduct that 5% off my american tax bill essentially and reduce how much i owe. That may not be the best example but you get my gist.

I keep trying to tell you guys shorting the vix (especcially VXX if it rallies at all) is the easiest money out there.

Look how much VXX has to pay into buying the front 2 months of vix futures:

Barchart.com - Futures Prices for S&P 500 VIX

Such a piece of shyt security that is only designed to lose money.

Better yet just sell weekly 18 (or higher depending on your risk preferences) calls on the vix. We will need a massive move for that to hit.

By the way, BKX (bank index) highest levels since the beginning of the year...how youre bearish this market is beyond me.

If Fed is hawkish and banks dont carry us then worry.
A bit worrisome that banks are decoupling from the yield curve, no? I don't think that divergence can continue and I trust the bond market more than equities on calling these things.
