I've seen the underlying (spot VIX) hit 11 and 12 and it's at 16 now. Which I'm surprised it's not higher with the last couple days we've had. 52 week lows on VXX are at a $24 handle as well. So there is a chance of downside but not much.

I would say buy if you think the market is going to drop or you're looking for some portfolio protection. Also VIX and its related ETFs are not really an investment. It's for short term plays.

I think alot of companies are going to drop off like yelp,pandora and other companies that have niche holdings.. As the big companies like aapl,fb,goog ect will be pretty much taking over, through buyout or force
