With BABA having the great sales today shouldnt it be doing well?

could be profit taking, selling the news, there was some really weird trading in it this morning at the open (by that I mean computer algorithms).

Jack Ma gave an interview last night basically saying the high stock price had him feeling the pressure of expectations and selling seemed to start there.

Its definitely profit taking. Baba has surged nearly 30 percent in like 3 weeks! I've made a nice chunk of change on my investment so far. May need to cash out for christmas shopping though....:patrice:

Don't get too greedy breh. Can't go broke taking profits

You can always jump back in at a lower price later... most of the time

these banks should develop a futures contract so they can hedge against fines

HSBC rigger on crushing his client's stop: "going to go for broke at this stop… it is either going to end in massive glory or tears."

man would I be pissed about this if my bank/broker executed trades like this

Buy and sell at 11-11:30:

By now, the world and his pet rabbit is aware of the 'odd' ramp in US equity markets as the European Close looms each day. Today - once again - was no exception, so we thought it worth quantifying this magical - and now self-fulfilling 'pattern'. In the last 4 months, if you bought the S&P 500 at 1100ET and sold at 1130ET, you would have won 55 times (garnering 129 points of profits) and lost 31 times (losing 70 points) for a total profit of over 59 points. This compares to the 53 point gain in the S&P 500 if you had just 'buy-and-hold'-ed over that period... and a quick glance at the chart tells you all you need to know about volatility...
