damn this analyst from Wunderlich destroyed Abercrombie today :heh:

“given the miss and what we view as a toxic space in teen retailing right now, we see no reason to be aggressive in the segment beyond short-term trading opportunities.”

so forming a REIT is going to save Sears? :dahell:
doesnt make sense fam :patrice:

the whole point of a REIT is to avoid Taxes and Sears is losing money every second so what tax savings are happening...what dividends are going to unit holders if theres no net income?

I mean i guess the REIT will charge Sears holdings for leasing or some shyt...but it just seems stupid and confusing for no reason

I guess they're selling 200-300 stores to the REIT. The whole thing is just bizarre and I don't see it how it creates value.

that makes sense. its stupid. Eddie Lampert was a former hedgefund investor/still is. This guy knows what he's doing.

The company should be declaring for bankruptcy as everyone knows that its brand isnt worth a lick and they will never turn another profit. Irrationality and lunacy at its finest

like these guys didnt get a loan from the CEO already. Blew through it already and need more money huh :heh:?

these job numbers from this morning are such bullshyt....why do we say unemployment is 5.8% and not talk about U4, U5 or U6?

and what's up with this number?

explain more please? beside I thought it was more important to focus on the workers who have given up on employment

and wouldn't the seasonal job market be reason for the participation rate of those 18-24?

it was just an odd number for young people. In fact its the highest ever as you can see by that chart. it should be seasonally adjusted but I'm not sure.

As far as U4, U5, U6 there's six different levels of unemployment by the BLS (or whoever does it). The numbers that will be quoted to you in the paper and what Obama will cite in speeches are not counting people who have dropped out of the labor force all together. They cite U3.

The U4, 5 and 6 do count those people and the the number there is up at like 12-15%

:woah: I swear they sell 10s of billions

Yeah... I'm just going off the top of my head I guess I could be off...

Just thinking about the tri-state there has to be a billion there alone.

"The company also sold five leases in Canada for C$400 million ($353 million) last year".
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...nd-leaseback-deal-to-strengthen-finances.html
:wow:
"Sears currently operates about 1,800 stores. If the company completes a REIT deal, it may ultimately own 400 to 500 stores and lease the remainder, Chief Financial Officer Rob Schriesheim said on the company’s blog".

In the bloomberg article the cfo thinks they'll get around 1.8 billion.

I think a lot of people are going to get fleeced and Lampert will make out like a king one way or another.

After the REIT is set up, he could safely file bankruptcy of Sears, and hold onto all the real estate when the smoke clears.

I navigated October well this year, she's usually a bytch to me :win:
Got in SPXL at $65.11, it's up to $84.40
Got in BABA at $98.75, it's up to $114.56
Got in INGN at $19.94, it's up to $23.61
Got in TASR at $15.47, it's up to $18.52

someone was telling me to buy TASR after the Ferguson stuff but I didnt do it. Instead I was trying to catch the big movements in LAKE. Seems like the Ebola headlines are dying out too
