you guys are too idealistic for your own good and you overthink things. We'll agree to disagree.
I’m not being idealistic, it’s the truth. Doesn’t stop me from making my living but let’s not act like this theory of free markets is actually at work here.

Brehs, just how to dividends works. When you see a dividend yield of 3.5%. does that mean that the company pays you 3.5% of a share price you own per share? For example, say you own 100 shares in a company. One share is worth $50. 3.5% of 50 = 1.75

1.75 x 100 = 175. 175 dividend to be paid out to you 4 times in one year.

Am I correct or wrong?

The yield shifts depending on the market price (and whether the dividend is increased or decreased)

Example:
A company will pay a quarterly dividend so lets say Company A pays $1 in dividends annualized with a stock price of $10. The yield is 10% ($1/$10).

Now lets say the price goes to $20. The yield is now 5% ($1/$20)

So fo you, your yield is dependent on your cost basis in the stock. If you own Company A at an average price of $8, then the yield to you is 12.5% ($1/$8)

:mjlol:Hell no! HOLD and do a stop loss on it. If the market goes back to normal, that's a 10x flip from what it is NOW, let alone when you purchased it.

I’m new to this, but you seem to know your shyt, so you think PLAY should be held?

Wish I had invested more when it was cheaper :francis:
