Brehs I think I fukked up. I placed a market order with a 5% collar for some Boeing yesterday for $117. This was during after-hours trading yesterday through Robinhood. Still hasn't been filled. Given that the price is $125+ now, should I cancel and free up the funds and rebuy with another Market order? Would that go through immediately? New to this so any help is appreciated.
Did you place a limit order breh?

Market order will be the quickest to fill, and will guarantee an entry point. If you're not concerned with the immediate fluctuation in price then go for it.

On the other hand it may go down to your $117 bid and your order will get filled on the way down. Or not, and it continues to rise.

Your decision :yeshrug:

your order won’t fulfill with current prices. You can wait for it to drop and fill or cancel and find a new entry. I’d cancel and find a new entry.

Thanks brehs. Does placing a market order during or after trading make a difference? I only placed 7 shared last night after trading when it was actually around $111 ($117ish after collar) so I don't see why it didn't fill then, low volume and collar was within the bounds at the time.

If I place an order now will it likely go through immediately?

Market orders will execute during regular market hours and at market price , regardless of when it was placed (eg after-hours)

So if you placed a limit order at $117 last night, and Boeing opens at $123, then your order will be skipped right over.

Yes it should. Also don't sell your boeing shares just because you were charged more, share price will go up in the future.

gonna wait for the end of the day to see if disney goes down again, but i'll still be copping if it stays at 95. Disney will inevitably become a 1000 share price in the future (end of next year imo). 5000 by 2025. I'm throwing a stack at it.
