4 month long cut with some good lifting, youll be in better shape :ehh:

the key is setting a plan and following through, regardless what you end up choosing

I'm going for a recomp through Leangains/fasting. I'm trying to do it with martial arts training (hard ass calisthenics) and weapons training(heavy). I think ill still try to deadlift and squat at least throughout the summer though even if I wanna develop a body suitable to what im learning.

im gonna be real, do lean gains and all but your priority should be to cut

i wouldnt worry about recomping until you are atleast 12% BF

It's just that a real cut is fukking impossible now that I'm home and my parents be throwing food I don't want in my face. shyt makes a diet impossible. When I'm at school/working I can regulate my shyt to the smallest degree, but here?

you can either do the due diligence or not do it :manny: eventually youll be forced to make a decision

you can make it clear to your parents that you prefer such and such and give them your reasons and then figure out how you can calculate what each meal is doing to you

i know youre old enough to do that much :rudy: dont make excuses for yourself breh

Immigrant parents are a little different man. They don't budge for nothing lol. But they've been giving me a lot of free reign over eating times and shyt the past couple of weeks, so its been good. You're right, they're excuses mostly. They are coming around to that low carb life though so its getting better :ehh:

im 6'1 and 190....Always was a skinny dude and my metabolism is fast as fukk. I have to eat constantly to maintain my weight.....i stay around 187-192 ish.

diet is pretty clean, 3 shakes a day and i make sure I get in meat or protein with each meal....Dont each chocolate, rarely touch fast food and I stick to Water and sports drinks...NO SUGARY Drinks like Coke. Only downside to me is my Calfs, Quads are fine but I got them small black man calfs which i need to continue to build on but damn they are stubborn as shyt.

Routine im on at the moment is basic 1 muscle group a day, 5 days a week. But I will be changing it this week to something else, body needs a shock.

i got tha same body type

how many calories do u consume daily?

wut type of meals do u eat? how much time out of your day do they take?


can u post your workout schedule, how often do u shock your body (changing up regiment)

you gotta look at how much they are using ingredient wise and make overestimates :manny:

you cut all your liquid cals youll already be on the right track for those fasts

i figure for lean gains, with 16/8 period you can by pass breakfast and eat a 800-1000 cal lunch and a 800-1000 cal dinner. With just water its gonna be hard to get that many calories on a plate without tons of carbs like rice etc

you gotta do what you gotta do, but the sooner you get started the sooner youll see results

i had a roommate from ghana that i used to work out with and he made incredible gains but he also was putting on fat, and would ask me "man why am i getting fat" and i was like *points to plate of rice and gallon of sunny d*

he aint listen to me :manny: after seeing my progress he finally cut down his rice portions and cut the drinks and now hes cut(big too, very wide chest/shoulders)

Liquid cals im straight (only drink water+milk), its just like you said family traditions of carbs. Alcohol and the lifestyle associated are what usually get me during the year, but at least i got that locked down right now since im too busy to get fukked up.

but thats what i get for a straight month of partying right :heh:

heres my suggestion cause i know exactly where your coming from

mook is dominican and his folks eat nothing but rice etc

1) drink a glass of water before eating
2) if you have a traditional 6-7" plate, no more than 1/3 of the plate in rice(roughly 400-500 cals)
3) ask for more meat on the plate, and if you can serve yourself go ham on the vegetables to fill your plate instead of the rice

itll make it seem to your parents you are eating large meals yet in reality itll still be coming under 1000cals and probably 50-60g protein depending on whats being served. You can be slick about it if you practice :youngsabo: at christmas i stayed under a 1000 and i went ham...literally :mjpls:

Rough sample diet.

Morning: oatmeal porridge, 3 boiled eggs.
Mid morning: protein shake.

Lunch: tuna sandwich with spinach on brown bread, water, fat free yoghurt
2 hours after lunch another shake

I'll gym between 5-6...banana before gym.

Post workout shake.

Dinner:varies, could be anything from rice with chicken. Salmon with broccoli etc

Snack: humous with wheat Pitta bread

Before bed: whey protein.


I don't count calories really but my diet is pretty good. Sometimes I start my morning with a protein shake and have something else mid morning.

As for workout...I'm starting PHAT tomorrow. But I change my routine every 6-8 weeks. Its been a while at the moment since I switched it up but PHAT should shock the shyt out of my system. Drink plenty of water! I'm always at the water fountain in work.
