Believing Bob Costas expressing this opinion is a "real issue" in sports coverage sounds more angry than anything I've said.

That just makes it worse. He was mad about McGwire getting shine that a) he swore he didn't care about and b) woulda got in spades after everything came out. Let's just sum it up as that. He took PED's, not because he was fighting for a new deal, not because he was tryna hang on in the majors, not because he became injury prone and it shortened his career, but because he was in his feelings.

It would be like if Mike Trout started doing PED's tomorrow because he craved the attention of the general public.

at the end of the day andro and other sh-t was legal and mcgwire had it right there at his locker. Couple reporters mentioned it but the story went away and nobody cared. Everyone just sat and enjoyed the show. History has shown that Ruth tried to get an edge.. that Mantle went to "Dr. Feelgood" to pump him full of sh-t to recover from injuries. none of it was illegal and nobody really cared because athletes have always tried to get an edge up. Some things cross a line but those substances weren't really against any rule and baseball reaped the profits from the chases.

Another thing to consider.. all these players doing PEDS.. yet nobody has come close to Bonds 73 homers in under 500 ABs with 175 BBs.

Why? Because he's the best.. PEDs don't do that. Talent does.
