I'm just happy they learned from last season...Season 3 was actually pretty damn good if you remove Margarets useless storyline...This season they made it a point to keep it all Capone, Van Alden, Harrow and Chalky mixed in with the NY crew...I didn't even mind Gillians side story this season because it actually had a good pay off...

Anyways we all should of seen Harrows end coming this season brehs...Da gawds personal life got a shyt ton of screen time and that is never a good sign...They gave him a great exit though, you honestly couldn't have done it any better...

People hating on the show for killing off Harrow are out of their minds.

It's incredibly rare for a show to be brave enough to eliminate popular characters. And to do it in such an organic, emotionally resonant way no less.

The writers, by showing us for the second time that no character is safe (except for those whose stories are based on historical events), essentially raise the stakes for EVERY scene and EVERY other character.

I feel that Nucky's barely even a part of this show anymore. He's basically nothing, storywise, without Margaret, sorry to say. He had a little bit of a spark with Billie, and when she got blown away, I felt a bit bad for him. This season, he just doesn't inspire any emotion as a character....Even as the brains, he's pretty ineffective. At least once a season, we got to see him use his noodle and get a big win. Not here. Hey, that grand plan to assassinate Narcisse? Didn't go so well. How about getting Chalky safely out of town? Nope, not that either. Trying to steal away to Cuba? Ha ha, no.

If Bobby Canavalle can win an Emmy for his portrayal of Gyp Rossetti I think that Jeffrey Wright and Gretchen Moll, Michael K Williams should at minimum be nominated for supporting actor Emmy's. One could easily argue for Jack Huston and Michael Stuhlbarg as well. Too much talent in the cast to not nominate someone every year. If not then :pacspit: at the Emmy.

It didn't strike me until the 5th season that I'd spent all these years watching Jesse be a complete jackass patiently waiting for him to not be a complete jackass. There's only so long I could sit there and hear him say "bytch" and essentially play the comic relief role. If Jesse's on screen it's either jokes or forced moral conflict that always ends up with dude crying. Dude won an Emmy for crying, essentially. Absolutely no nuance to his character at all. I thought when he kliqed up with Mike and started showing some potential that his character might develop, but they gimped him out again and we only got a couple flashes of intelligence again in season 5 with him coming up with some ideas to get them out of sticky situations. Who is Jesse really?:ld: How would you break him down as a character? He's the AJ Soprano of Breakign Bad to me. I gave Hank and Saul their props, but again I never saw any signs of those guys having different facets to their characters. Saul was either funny or being a scumbag to get himself out of shyt. Who is Saul? Hank showed me something in season 5B, but before that he was just alpha male detective dude that likes rocks and craft beer. Both guys are solid actors, but I'll ask you this: what would you say are their transcendent scenes? The scenes that you would use to argue how awesome a character they were? Because I can pick quite a few for the cast of BE:

Breaking Bad is about Walter White. That's it. So it doesn't need the other characters to be prominent because in essence they're unimportant outside of their interaction with Walt. Boardwalk's many storylines do intersect with Nucky tending to be that intersection but those storylines also exist independent of one another so it can't survive without an ensemble cast of stellar actors and characters. None of this is me dissing Breaking Bad. I'd go as far a saying it's the most entertaining show of all time but I wont overrate its characters because of the show's overall greatness.

This nikka Mickey Doyle is like Ashur from Spartacus. nikka got 12 lives. I think they're trolling us by keeping him alive. I won't be shocked if he lives until the last season. I think it was wise to keep Eli alive. Even though you can't trust the rat fukk, he's a good character. Can't wait to see the kind of trouble he gets into with Van Alden.
Why would they kill him NOW doe? Let's be fair with dude, he does his job, he shyts on the employess sometimes but only cause they fukk up. Gets the beats by Nucky but doesn't front, doesn't do no bullshyt and is goon enough to fukk with everybody :heh:

rewatching this again, alot of these scenes were beautifully shot(ex. the death of Chalky's daughter)

I like how they kept both Narcisse and Chalky as well.

Yeah, I have to agree with most of you guys. This season was some of the best television I've ever seen.

Breaking Bad had terrific writing, but it was mostly a snoozefest until the later seasons, IMO. Also, outside of Walt, all the other characters were one dimensional, or annoying, or boring. Boardwalk Empire has a ridiculous number of interesting characters, and their individual stories keep me captivated. Earlier seasons didn't really have a lot of gangster shyt, so I can see why some people got turned off by it.

In other news Mickey Doyle still lives :blessed: :umad: :ahh:

Mickey Doyle da gawd... say what you want but he's a survivor.
It just hit me my n1gga AR wasnt in the finale :damn:

Best actor on the show

:what: he was in the final scene. check again.

Man we need just a Chicago/NY version of Boardwalk Empire. All my real nikkas getting killed.

This doesn't even make sense. The show is called Boardwalk Empire. AC will always be the focus.

ok cool

so how did can they use narcisse to pin down garvey?

and what is garvey doing that they need narcisse to snith on him?

i kinda missed that part

Cmon bruh... do your blackness a favor and read up on Marcus Garvey

Brehs you can make fun of me but I'm still not off this. These bytch ass writers really went out of their way to kill off Richard. With Jimmy, yea I understand he had to go but come the fukk on b all the man wanted was a family and when he finally got that *POOF* gone :stopitslime: :stopitslime: :stopitslime: :stopitslime: :stopitslime:

:umad:

shyt was well-written. No way Harrow was gonna survive and even he knew it. He sacrificed his life so scumbag Gillian couldn't take Tommy back. Now he finally has peace. you should be happy for him

Japan, but from the 989
Theme of the season...."Women will ruin you" This season who ever was tied down to a woman got messed over.
1. Chalky- p*ssy ruined him..got his daughter killed.
2. Narcisse- Should have killed Chalky when he walked in the club (the one time being a savage would have been in his favor) Now he is a government "boy" (you know he HATES this shyt)
3. Harrow- Was the fukking Terminator last season. Gets married, loses his nerve, gets shot.
4. Eli- Wife was fukking running her mouth and that's how Nucky found out.

5. Nucky- Got rid of all p*ssy this season and survived.

If you had a woman this season you did not win. lol
