Love it. But I translate it as 'There is a world without Caesars' or 'The world is without Caesars' ('est' is implicit). If it's intended to be an exclamation: A world without Caesars!, then I think it should read 'MUNDUM SINE CAESARIBUS'. Maybe someone with less rusty Latin than mine can critique.

This is an example why they need to adopt a verification badge the way twitter used to be.

Especially now, it’s hard to decipher between parody, fan and official.

We can’t rely on the average user to know the lead dev as a trust worthy cosign.

I think it's good to verify the identity of prominent figures (journalists). I think the verification should go on the *profile*. I don't think it's appropriate to put it on posts, and I think you should have avoided Twitter's "blue check".

2. Is this person who they claim to be?

These two goals are *directly in conflict*. There are people who are totally unreliable info sources, but you'd want to know the account isn't impersonation.

It existed a long time before Elon took over, people inside of Twitter were fast tracking peoples verification that was then being used a leverage to sign book deals and gain outsized influence, so much so bluecheck's became known for having completely vapid takes because the algorithm boosted them.

If people wanna do that and get into petty status games over it I honestly don't care, that's your problem, all I care is that a verification means that the person is who they say they are and people who are verified don't get boosted in any algorithm or replies

The original verification program @ Twitter (pre-musk) was great! It helped to know which public accounts were authentic. As long as it doesn’t turn into a pay for play scheme, we are ok.

It was still very poor UX prior to Musk. Bluechecks were increasingly mocked, mainly because while it first was intended for authentic accounts for famous people and brands, it was quickly just given out to anyone with a big enough following and was viewed as a way to confer status

If it doesn't, people with domain verification will no longer be recognized as "truly" verified unless they can somehow obtain a blue check that shows "real" verification. It's just a way of undermining self-verification through domain.
