Blueprint 3 is a guilty pleasure album. I like every track.

Negativity (Kayfabe)
  1. Sound Jacking Jay-Z making excuses for snaking nikkas
  2. Corny...sounds like Graduation era Kanye
  3. :mjlol:
  4. Okay single...I understand it was a smash...always reminds me of the annoying Illuminati era on here
  5. :mjlol: shyt sounds like a Ford Focus commerical
  6. Decent in the long line of Jeezy/Jay records
  7. :mjlol:
  8. :mjlol:
  9. :mjlol: As bad as Mr. Nice Watch
  10. :mjlol:
  11. Sound Jacking Kanye like a muhfukka...but his best attempt at it
  12. Ghetto Techno ... if it made the album
  13. :mjlol: At this point nikkas thought Tim was sabotaging the album with bullshyt like this
  14. Smooth Pharell shyt
  15. I just realized Kanye did 7 joints on here and they all sound like throwaways from Graduation and 808s
I'm not gonna be fair to this album because it's where I stopped being a stan and realized it's time for Jay to just stop releasing albums.

Take away the success of Empire and people look at this like a flop.

Edit: this is only two albums ago

2009 - BP3
2013 - MCHG :trash::trash::trash::trash::trash:

2017 - 444 (I won't hate on this album...his best in 15 years [not including Throne])

Never understood the hate for the album. The only songs I don’t like are Off That, and Reminder. It’s not one of his best albums, but certainly not the worst.

i bumped it heavily. how much credit goes to kanye for this? he blessed him.

:jbhmm:

A lot. He was bigger than Jay at the time coming off Graduation. The collaborations between the two was the precursor to WTT.

This is a weird album in the fact that there are some really good songs here, especially at the beginning, and some really bad ones that make you question how they all ended up on the same track list. "Reminder" is my guilty pleasure track. That beat sucks and whoever's singing the hook should have been thrown out of the studio, but I just can't dislike it. "Venus vs. Mars" is actually a good song, though. Jay had a lot of witty lines and the production is cool.

"A Star is Born" is underrated as hell. Cole killed that verse, back when he had the fire of a rookie. The beat's great, and Jay had some dope verses paying homage to rap legends. I noticed that Jay really is a good sequencer like he says. He'll put the hottest songs in the beginning to get you interested, drop some bullshyt in the middle and try picking up the pieces near the end with average songs. Kingdom Come was sequenced the exact same way.

Maybe I would feel different about the album had he not named it BP3. That series was a bit special to me, I enjoy BP2 more than most. The disappointment for not living up to the title I never could get over. Jay was shooting for the top of the charts and enlisted the hottest names on the charts to do so while also letting the Future (drake,Cole, cudi). I still hate Young Forever and how he closes concerts to that song years later. I should revisit it.
