Sort of crazy cause the marketing for this movie would be so easy. Put it out around easter it's the Mexican spider man. Create a stupid viral moment dc abandoned this project so fast and its sad because the product itself actually isnt too bad

Just finished. It was an okay film.
My only complaint here was the set design. It seemed so cheap. Especially their neighborhood . The snowfall Mexican neighborhood was much more believable than the blue beetle one despite blue beetle having a budget orders of magnitude higher.
So other than set design , It was an okay movie. But I'm not interested in a sequel like they hinted at the end, because it didn't do anything over the top in film production to captivate me. Furthermore, the main character is a comic hero I honestly couldn't care about, unlike Captain marvel(Shazam) , so my personal enthusiasm can't push me to invest further, despite a mediocre movie in both cases.
Also , I'm low-key salty that her royale-Pawg-highness, gal Gadot didnt make an appearance.

This woulda been better just being on streaming only. Like this felt like a good 90s straight to DVD/Saturday Afternoon USA flick

I agree, the reception for this movie would have been a lot more positive if it premiered on HBO MAX instead of the theater.
Was supposed to be originally. But not a good look when Hispanic movies only get straight to streaming premieres as the largest moviegoing audience, and Black panther and Shang chi get theatrical releases
But now definitely not getting another shot
