There's too much money in an interconnected universe if people get invested to not do that. Captain Marvel didn't hit like $1 Billion because people were so invested in that character. People got invested in the ongoing story and had to see the next movie.

I feel you but honesty... besides the occasional team up movie ... the only real connectivity happens in a post credit scene

The first one would have just because of the shrinking/growing novelty.

But the problem with most of these superhero movies is they don’t have the rogue gallery to build out a universe so the sequels for these C-list heroes comes out scatter shot.

Captain America jumped straight from a classic Red Skull to a 2005 Winter Soldier story. 80 years of nothing to draw from?
