Going to restart this this weekend when I finish king's quest chapter 1. Got through about half of it the first time walkthrough.

What is the consensus best build in the game?

I had to summon someone to beat Laurence the first Vicar in dlc and even then it took a lot of tries as my co ops could die with one hit or get caught in his 3 swipe combo or lava puddles in the 2nd form. I recommend using the confederate hunter rune as you can summon npc hunters to help in more places, especially the boring dungeons.

These Chalice dungeons really turn you into a fukkin Warrior.

I remember when 2 of them big ass demonic dogs in the lower chalice with the horns being walked by a witch used to be intimidating.

Straight p*ssy to me now.

They make the main game seem like a fukkin walk in the park.

Keep at it. Bloodborne was my first taste of these type of games (Never played Dark or Demon Souls) I was about 15 minutes in and kept getting frustrated at the same part, finally completed it. The game is awesome and has a nice sense of achievement and fist pumping once you finally beat an area that was giving you problems. The game ended up being one of my favorites.

I can't wait for Dark Souls 3 now.

This game is a chore to play, I don't have fun playing it. It's too repetitive.

Take the first area. I'll have a very good game, take out all enemies and then die at the boss. As a result, I'm back at the beginning and I have to do the same thing all over again (the same enemies/challenges that I've already beaten). Yes, I can run past the enemies, but that first attempt at the boss used up all my blood vials, so I have to start killing the same enemies again (to gain more blood vials). This game needs more checkpoints. It's not fun killing the same enemies over and over and over again.

Frustrating game.

The lack of checkpoints make the game way too repetitive.
You can unlock shortcuts to the boss area. You can open the gate at the beginning of Central Yharnam and fight the 1st boss if you go inside the building and out on the left instead of crossing the bridge to fight the boss

Game doesn't need any more checkpoints you just need to level up instead of trying to fight the boss every time

I'll try it. Is this the gate on the left at the first checkpoint in the game?

Problem is, I can only take shortcuts or run past enemies when I have enough blood vials. Most of the time when I get far, I end up dying and using most of my blood vials.

Yeah it's that gate on the left right at the lamp from the lamp checkpoint. Once you unlock it from the other side when you die you can just go through the gate go up the stairs kill the Frankenstein man and the birds then fight the boss
