Unlike dark souls when you die while fighting a boss (3rd boss that poison u)..:whoo:you have to back through the fukking fog to retrieve the souls--echoes. if you die on your way back you lose all of them. Lost 40,000 because I got killed by a fukking werewolf, got poisoned and fukk nikkas kill me while I'm applying antidote...:mjcry:

Said fukk this game and turn that shyt off :martin:

Yesterday I unlocked the Upper Cathedral Ward and fought the Celestial Emissary. Pretty easy fight if you can avoid the beam he shoots.

That one's extremely easy. How bout the 2nd boss in that area? :lupe:

Once I watched a YouTube video on beating Defiled Chalice Amygala I beat it easily. I was attacking the tail the entire time before and I'd lose patience since it took so long. I attacked the glowing arms instead then attacked the tail after he was down to the last third of health

Oh, Ebrietas?

I was about more 30 minutes of dying from taking this bytch to Gamestop on 21st street and putting the credit towards Fire Emblem: Fates in a fit of rage. HANDS DOWN the hardest boss in the game for me. She does so much fukking damage, it's unreal. :mindblown: I tried getting help from the NPC summon placed near the fog, he helped out a bit but died because he didn't have the sense a human would to back the hell out of the way during her second phase. Then I just said fukk it and summoned 6 different people....AND WE ALL TOOK L'S. :damn: At this point, I was about to call on the breh @OmegaZero or somebody else in here because I was just at a damn loss for what do to :mjcry:, but I summoned the NPC one last time...and we got her by the grace of Gawd :ohlawd:. I lit that lamp and got the fukk out of there. :martin:

Now i'm just stuck with one last place to go...Nightmare of Mensis. I actually took a peek at this area a few days ago....some there are these new powerful beasts that let out plasma worms when they die (:scust:) and those are lowkey the hardest normal enemy because the targeting gets all fukked up due to them being so low to the ground. :why: If that ain't enough, I gotta play hide and seek carefully placed columns with some motherfukker shining a search light that causes frenzy and does damage if you stand still long enough. :martin: Oh and that's not all...there's a sinister bell ringing woman in this area just like the Nightmare Frontier. :beli: After that Ebrietas fight, I'd had enough of the bullshyt and just played offline for a bit just so I wouldn't get invaded while dealing with all of this. :timmyimout: Once I actually got past the search light, my old friend shows up again :whiteparadise:, the rock throwing motherfukker from the Frontier and this time there's 4 of them placed closely together. After about 3 deaths that I'm too embarrassed to detail, I make my way into the house...and I'm greeted by these big ass spiders with one gigantic one in the middle of the room. :kattwtf: There was a stairwell leading to the left that led to a platform in the middle of the spider room where 2 surprise spiders almost got me, but I saw this empty balcony that I could swear was meant for someone or something. :jbhmm: I exited my game and went online to see if my theory was right...and indeed it was. :sas1: The bell woman spawned right in front of me with her back turned, so I put an end to all them invasions. Was it cheap? Yes it was. Do I give a damn? No I don't. :imsorrytohearthat: Back to Spider-man and his family. The little ones hit harder than you think but go down easy. The giant one though. :dayum: I swear that thing is a mini boss because it took a whole lot of hits and damn near killed me on more than one occasion. Just outside that room is an NPC hunter that I walk up to thinking he can't be no worse than anything I've faced so far. :qpsmug: This motherfukker sprayed me with some time of gas that killed me in about 5 seconds. :qpwtf: I felt like I was some street harasser that got maced. :francis: Realizing I'm ALL the way back at the first lamp, I just ran past everything, got my echoes back, and took the time to learn his moves to parry him 3 times to kill him. I'm dying for a shortcut at this point but I keep moving into this new area that houses what I a swear looks like a bunch of mini bronze statue men that aren't a real threat but just look kind of odd. :kattwtf: I find a shortcut to a new lamp in the area and damn near praised the sun in real life. :blessed: Past all the bronze men is this giant buddha looking one that hits like a motherfukker. :damn: I'm not even gon tell yall I tried to parry dude with a torch in hand. :snoop: In typical Bloodborne fashion, there's another one further down that's backed up by new bronzesmen that shoot arrows, all surrounded by holes in the floor that most likely equal death. :francis: One near death later, I'm going up a staircase with this new type of crow enemy that has the rapid dogs head for a beak and further down there's a new rabid dog that had the bird's head for a mouth. :merchant: Trying not to question science, I unlock another shortcut to the second lamp I found, I go back up and walk down this path with a new skeleton type enemy to face another boss, this one being Micolash. :francis:

Honestly though? Really not too hard. He runs like a bytch and the area is a maze fileld with those new skeletons but you can pretty much avoid them. Once I had him cornered in a room, all I really had to do was dodge that tentacle move and get him down to half health. Like the fukkboy he is, he teleports to the other side of the area. I hav to chase him down again, only this time, he's locked himself because a steel cage door and it takes me about 3 minutes to find the area above it I'm supposed to fall through. At this point, I figure I can make short work of him....this motherfukker casts some beam move and OHKO's me. :skip::why::pacspit: I fought his ass a second time and didn't even give him a chance to breathe during the second phase. :camby:

Haven't played for a bit, but fired it up for a little while and headed to Byrgenwerth. First crazy ass fly/spider/iDontKnowWhat type enemy I'm like ok. Next one I find, I fukked up and let it jump on my, causing Frenzy. Ok. Go back to Hunter's Dream and put on the Rune that reduces Frenzy Damage and go back. Get to a twitchy looking dude at a tree with "terrible foe" notes in front. Ignoring the warnings, I attack it like a badass, something pops out of his head, he freezes me, then starts chomping away at my head. It kills me. I go back again, he kills me again, and then I notice he's stealing Insight from me. I went from 15 to 3. I don't really care about the Insight (what's the point of it anyways? Only thing it did for me was make enemies stronger, so I spent what I had awhile back), but damn man. Then I realize that he's just chilling there, and I can sneak up on him, so I did and killed him.

Push forward a bit and get to some big ass spider-like thing that shoots fireballs. I watched it for a minute, then went in close and it's easy to kill. Lots of HP, but no viable attacks. Killed, see the notes around saying "Fear Church", see the door to said building, open the shortcut back to the lamp, and my girl just brought food home so I turned it off for now.

After reading the above post, shyt's got me like :lupe:. Makes you realize that no matter what you're dealing with now, shyt in the next room/area is just gonna get worse.

Side Note
: I see that Dark Souls 2 on PSN is down to $20 right now. Probably a dumb question, but it's gotta be worth that right? Y'all played it? Thoughts?

Updates :francis:

Didn't have anywhere else to check out except the Lecture Hall so I went after avoiding it all this time. It's not really intimidating at all honestly, it's just dark. :ld: The students that show up looking like flan in a cap and gown die in 1-2 hits and that's the extent of the threat in the area. There's a room where there's like 10 of them and they seem to give up a good amount of echoes (went in with 669, left with 14k) so I might use this place to farm later on. I get to the door at the end of the hall and open it without even reading the text....I ended up in the Nightmare Frontier. :lupe: Right off the bat, it's a nice change in scenery with the fields, but I don't get too much time to enjoy it because apparently there's a sinister bell ringing woman somewhere summoning actual players to invade my game. :stopitslime: I only fought 2 of them. Got my ass whooped in the first fight, and took the second invader down with ease and got all my echoes back from the first fight. Only netted 30-something thou total. :ld: At this point I'm debating on switching to offline because I really want to just explore the place, but I eventually find where the bell woman was hiding and take her out from the back. :camby: There's also 2 NPC hunters in the area but they're hardly worth mentioning at my current power. :sas1: Now I can actually explore this new area. :blessed: These new beast like things with mouths that look like infected p*ssy only look intimidating but actually go down in 3 swipes for me. Same goes for those squid looking things that thrive in the poisonous water (which is the only kind of water this area has to offer apparently :martin:). I pick up various cold blood stones and runes scattered about and end up in this field with these giant looking dudes that like to throw rocks. And I'ma tell you right now, these rocks do more damage than they ought to. Almost 2/3rds of my health bar? Even getting hit by the debris? Word? :francis: Luckily they're so slow, it's easy kill them or get behind them for a visceral. It's about 3 more of these dudes in the area as well, so I try to creep up behind one while I see the other one standing on a cliff that's about an entire valley away. There's no way he can throw that rock far enough to reach me, right? :lupe:

Now I have to constantly be on the run because apparently these are rocks with heat seeking missiles inside of them. :fohch: Getting past all of that, I find the first shortcut that's a falling statue placed closer towards the lamp. Now, what happens next is something where I can show you better than I can tell you.

I had to use a Bold Hunter's Mark just to get out of there. :snoop:

Redid everything for the echoes and peace of mind and made sure not to end up in that spot again. :martin: At this point, I think I'm going to make some progress now at least, so on the upper path where I was supposed to go, there's this branching left path that even has little glowing dots (shining coins probably) to light the way to an item that's sitting on top of a dead corpse. This must be a really important item if From Software decided to light a pathway towards it! Whatever could it be? :hamster: Is it a powerful rune? :jbhmm: Perhaps a weapon? :lupe: A quality bloodstone? :whoo: An outfit with a higher defense stat than the one I've been wearing since the start of the game? :brilliantshawty: The curiousity is killing me! :damn: Let me see what this item is that has been placed ever so careful in front of me-

Instead, let's have this spider creature push the player off a cliff down into the poisonous water caverns lurking below the entire area with more squid monsters, where you move as if trying to walk in quicksand with you get slowly poisoned every step of the way, thereby forcing the player to roll around by mashing circle and spend the stamina they need to fight said squids efficiently!

Me:
giphy.gif

I guess I should consider myself lucky that they didn't factor in fall damage for this. :pacspit: Again, the squid enemies go down in 2-3 hits but trying to manuver in that water is an absolute pain in the ass. At this point, my blood pressure is building like Beanie Sigel in 2000 eating the greasiest of cheesesteaks. :comeon: I roll around like a godamn idiot towards the way out only to be greeted by EVEN MORE squid monsters, and some more of those giants that throw Stinger missiles disguised as boulders. :martin: I make my way back up to where the item was, and it turns out all it was was a Coldblood flower required for some chalice ritual. :fohch: Right about now, I'm just ready to turn this bytch off and get something to eat but I keep on going. End up in some caverns where another giant was perched for an easy visceral and some squid creatures that actually thrive on land for once. The way this area was set up though, there was no way to go but down into more of the poison water, so I fall down, killing some squid monsters and figure I'm gonna have to roll my way through all this to move forward. So I'm killing some squids, keeping an eye on the poison meter but guess what brehs? :whiteparadise: YET ANOTHER fukkING ROCK THROWING GIANT IN THE DISTANCE WITH A PERFECT HOMING ROCK THAT KILLS ME RIGHT THEN AND THERE. :pacspit::pacspit::pacspit::pacspit::pacspit::pacspit:

I get my souls back, use another Hunter's Mark, level up some, and cut the PS4 right the fukk off. :snoop:

I grabbed something to eat, took a little break, and dive right back into it because I didn't come this godamn far for nothing. Since this other water area is the only place left to go, I pretty much roll like hell avoiding damn near everything just to get past this bullshyt and try to find another shortcut that's close to a boss area that leads back to the lamp. Further up down here, I find a pathway leading up to the giant that killed me and savored every bit of the visceral I killed him with. :ohlawd: I go back down thinking things will be easier, only to find what looks like a new cave with, YOU GUESSED IT :beli:, ANOTHER rock throwing giant in front of it. Short work is made of this motherfukker and I'm just ready for it all to be over. Well guess what nikka? It aint. :umad: This is another cavern with poisonous water so I get to rolling as usual (this is so fukking dumb), but in here, other than your average squids, there's something else lurking in these waters. :lupe: Something that sounds like singing infact. :merchant: I use an antidote and blood vial I didn't even need to go see what it was. Brehs....it's some new type of enemy that looks like Mother Brain from Metroid. :wtf: I didn't even get a chance to take it all in because it shuffles towards you at light speed, and to me that only means one thing, this is one of those bullshyt enemies that can kill you in one or two blows. :damn: I swing my axe like crazy and it actually goes down in 3 hits, but my frenzy meeter is activated and it's moving faster than it ever has before...even after the thing died. :qpwtf: Frenzy maxed out and took most of my life bar with it. :mindblown: Mashing triangle like a madman, I go towards the exit of this cave...only to find another one of those brain enemies lurking outside. :damn: I don't even bother going for a visceral and just kill the thing....and once again it almost killed me. :sadbron: Right now I'm just trying to get the fukk up outta here and see 2 paths branching left and right. Towards the left is what looks like a boss arena and I run back like a bytch because I aint about this Bloodborne life no more today .:mjcry: Right path had an elevator of sorts that led to the beginning of the map with the lamp. I tucked my tail between my legs and went right back to the Hunter's Dream with the doll. At least she won't hurt me. :mjcry:

EDIT: When he winds up in the air, time him about to attack you then dash towards him...get a few hits. His other attacks are really telegraphed so just keep your distance.

this game is by far the hardest game i played. In dark souls, the only shyt i had to worry about was basilisk petrification. That's the only shyt i worried about. In this game, shyt is just different. you can get two shotted by an enemy and die. There are enemies that can 1 shot kill you so you can never get over confident.

Not to mention all the enemies in this game are rabid as fukk, reminiscent of that black knight(:damn:) in dark souls 1. And they gang up on you, its a wrap.
