Oh yeah since it’s Netflix I’ll just turn it on this weekend
It’s a rough watch for sure. Ana’s accent is never going away, but I thought she gave a great performance otherwise. Marilyn’s glamour and stardom, while present, take a backseat while themes of exploitation were on the forefront. Can definitely see someone backing out of it with how constant Norma’s trauma was at play. I almost did just that, but pedaled on through.
Cinematography was hazy and dream-like, and also made it feel like a nightmare that just would not end. Knowing that it’s based off of a fictional piece, it makes total sense. Could’ve sworn someone had stolen my remote and was playing around with it by how often the aspect ratio changed, lol. Decent watch, but the likelihood of me ever peeping this again is slim.
