:russ: Man look, don't even get me started. I loved wrestling growing up. I still hold an infinity for the Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Mania. Vince just DGAF.

Vince needs to be taken out back. It's time. They were giving away 2 for 1 tix to an event last night. Big PPV event. Still couldn't sell out the house. AEW can't get here soon enough

The YouTube comment was terrifying. Gave me anxiety

That goes back to what I was saying to @Ebonic Plague about not having nostalgia for something you didn't grow up with. He even said if he grew up with youtube instead of the stuff he did, maybe he wouldn't have the same affinity for it. Generations change and create their own definitions of what's dope and what's not. The shyt was scary but I can see a future where they care more about YouTube or Snapchat than whatever is coming out in a movie theater

Unless you’re Vince McMahon

:patricelol:

I think wrestling died for me when Kane took his mask off.

For years I was told he looked like a monster after Taker left him in a burning house but when he took his mask off and it looked like a baby slapped him in the face after playing in ashes my teenage self was :nahman:

I gave it a couple more years but :tuckerreally:

Even Toy Story 4 is 'underperforming'. Not bad or anything it's going to make plenty of money but industry insiders, trades and Disney themselves were all expecting around $140M-$165M opening weekend and it's looking like $118M.

That's a PIXAR staple and a movie that most people seem to be raving about. But it's a sequel and a lot of people felt Toy Story 3 was a good ending.

Toy Story is not underperforming. Expecting 165 million domestic was ridiculous from the very beginning. I don't know why Boxofficemojo put out that foolish number. The film is going to be make a billion and then another how many billions in merchandise. These pixar movies are toys just as much as they are films.

It’s also over preformed overseas. 240 million global opening.

Godzilla underperforming :jawalrus:

Dark Phoenix flopping :ohlawd:

MIB straight up bombing :myman:

Dumbo a massive failure :smugdraper:

The first signs that the blockbuster system is about to collapse :banderas:

fukk this cookie cutter bullshyt movies studios keep pumping out, let's get back to the days when movies were actually creative and gritty. :blessed:

Marvel remain undefeated though :wow:

I mean yea. Just don't bring up Aladdin being the 3rd best selling movie of the year.
Toy story 4 breaking series record on its 4TH entry.
Jon Wick 3 again breaking series record.
Captain Marvel doing a BILLY.

I admit Godzilla doing poorly sucks cause it was a good movie. But Dark Phoenix and MiB was always gonna fail. And Dumbo bombing proves not EVERYTHING Disney does is golden. Just 99% of it.

Hollywood Is in a Panic Again. Is This the Summer From Hell or Business As Usual?

The annual box office is down nearly 9 percent in 2019, despite the fact that for the first time since 1993 the average ticket price has fallen from the previous year. The industry is on pace to sell its lowest number of total tickets since ’92, the same year that the original Aladdin appeared in theaters

Well Hollywood keep remaking/recycling a lot of these films that execs shouldn't really be surprised when movies like Dumbo/M.I.B. Intl/Dark Phoenix etc., bomb or disappoint at the box office. I thought about going to see the Child's Play reboot but I think I'm going to pass on it altogether.

Another reason why I think Hollywood is struggling is b/c they start the summer movie season too early. Captain Marvel, Shazam!, & Avengers:Endgame all came out within 30-45 days of each other. I was checking the rest of the 2019 movie schedule and the only two "blockbusters" I see left for the summer is "Far From Home" in July and "Hobbs & Shaw" in August. Everything else afterwards is a toss up. I remember two years ago it was good movies coming out left & right. Now summer schedule is looking dry.

Dude probably talking about Shazaam. Which did modest to below expected numbers.

You know these dudes can't help themselves. Comic book movies probably the worst thing to happen to cinema.
Funny that you say that in this thread when comic book movies (MCU obviously) have been what's kept Hollywood alive the past decade

Nikkas really don't remember how bad the industry was doing back in 2010

There could be a big reset here now that Avengers wrapped up. Maybe more focus will go to other properties and ideas. Maybe not.
