I remember someone called Jalen a poor mans Zach Lavine.
Yeah that comparison was always bad and used as a way to downplay Jalen. Gotta remember, Zach came into the league as a raw tall point guard - dude had athleticism, but that's about it. Taking nothing away from Zach, bro got what it takes to win a ring one day.
At the end of the day though Green is exponentially further in terms of technical ability, BBIQ,
footwork and shooting as a rookie than Zach was.
shyt, Zach didn't have Jalen's current arsenal until about his 3rd or 4th year in the league. I mean there's shyt he can't do that Jalen can
right now.
Jalen doesn't need a few years to learn a proper scoring foundation because it's already there and instead those are years that can be used to fine tune and build an arsenal of countermoves on top of it.
Even the breh that knows and posts all the game-breaking NBA footwork content on instagram (mdwbasketball) been giving Green shoutouts about his footwork the whole season. Jalen gotta work with this dude or at least Kyrie's trainer over the summer.
Don't know the last time we saw a
rookie (11th youngest player in the league in fact) with elite footwork like this to the point they're being compared to Kobe/Kyrie/Luka/Harden/KD in this area. Jalen even got the Kobe/Olajuwon reverse pivot fadeaway off the dribble in his arsenal - that's a move you don't even see scoring vets have because it requires an insane amount of footwork, shiftiness and fluidity. Bro is an anomaly.
