All Fred can do is spam pick and roll with Sengun and throw up garbage ass 3s. Cade is always assertive. He knows he’s the man. He knows if he’s not on, his team will fail. True alpha mentality. Sengun got that in him to. That’s why, even if he starts off 1-10, he can finish 10-20zIt’s that high variance. Most polarizing player since Minny weedplate. Some of it is Ime and his rotations, last year Jalen took off because he spoke out and spoke with Ime about wanting to play with Cam and Amen more as opposed the starter because the starter(mainly FV) played at a slow tempo..
Ppl don’t realize it but FVV and Jalen aren’t really a complementary backcourt. They don’t assist each other at all. FVV, a lot of times, only really look for Sengun. I keep saying comparing hi to Wiggins because Wiggins was passive and forgotten in Minny jsut like Jalen gets in Houston. He strives in GS because Kerrs offense makes it a priority to involve him. Whereas in Minny he had to figure it out and get I where he fits in and he doesn’t have a dominating attitude to go get his all the time. That’s one thing I give Cade all the credit for. Jalen and Wiggins aren’t go-getters like him.
Jalen lets himself get punked and will fade In a game. That’s why when people say he’s a ball hog I know they don’t watch the rockets play. Jalen will take some bad shots at times and puts up low assist numbers but he’s the opposite of a ballhog. He will stand in the corner for large stretches of a game then get like 2-3 mins of shots that determine whether the good or bad Jalen has shown up. The mental growth he needs to take to really break out is to think “if I get 26-30 points, my team will win”. He’s gotta learn how to press and how to push that button even when he’s off. But on this type of team, where on any given night someone might pop off, it’s best to play how he has been playing (inefficiency aside). But the playoffs are a completely different beast.
