In a thread about black nerds you only take the time to highlight the attractive ones rather than celebrate that black people are individuals and dare to adventure outside the box of stereotypes and create businesses, have legitimate non rap/sports hobbies, etc.

OP thought she was doing good but youre literally everything wrong with modern society. :snoop:
The real nerds ain't getting no shine :francis:

Personally, it makes no difference to me. :manny:
Then let nerdy brehs become popular. :yeshrug:

No, hipsters and women have tried to change the definition of what a nerd is. I'm sure the real nerds who were outcasted, picked on, bullied etc are probably pissed off that what they were hated on for liking is now popularized and "mainstream".
Hipsters cant change anything unless you let them without protest.

Hipsters can dress like a nerd and pretend to have a nerdy interest but at the end of the day real people know that they are fake.

A nerd is a person who has a couple of nerdy interests. No matter how much a hipsters try they cant change shyt. :manny:

Nerdy dudes who got picked on are happy that they can be themselves without backlash. Its a good thing for society if nerdy interests become popular other than the annoying hipsters jumping on it.

I forgot who it was, but someone said drake is a dork, not a nerd. What definition are you using?

I've also heard Tinashe being called dorky as well. I don't think hers was in a negative way though. I bet they were using the urban dictionary definition when talking about her.

That definitely won't be the case. Only a certain brand of nerds would become popular. It would be akin to stereotypes and the effect that they have on people who don't fit them. Changing the label "nerd" to some watered-down definition would definitely ostracize, even more so than is currently the case, some of the kind of people I would call nerds.

Thanks to the label of nerd not being only a negative connotation these days and therefore bringing nerdy interests into the popular scene a lot of people now receive less social backlash for nerdy interests.

Thats a benefit.

:upsetfavre: I want to see the receipts for a lot of these so called nerds. A man having one obsessive hobby or being smart or wearing glasses does not make you a nerd. You have one or two nerd attributes and want to make yourself seem like a "nice" guy just to get the draws. That ain't a true nerd! :pacspit:A good half of these dudes are running around claiming something they know damn well they don't fit in.

No they are still being picked on. I remember back in high school like 4 dudes dropped a bunch of yugioh cards in the hallway, people were laughing and cracking jokes on them. And this was just four years ago.
