No they are still being picked on. I remember back in high school like 4 dudes dropped a bunch of yugioh cards in the hallway, people were laughing and cracking jokes on them. And this was just four years ago.

Yet less nerds are getting picked on than before.

Ive noticed these days less women react negatively to my nerdy interests than they used to 10 years ago. Other dudes I talked to confirmed this as well.

Some of them even have some nerdy interests of their own.

It aint perfect but its progress.

I want to see the receipts for a lot of these so called nerds. A man having one obsessive hobby or being smart or wearing glasses does not make you a nerd. You have one or two nerd attributes and want to make yourself seem like a "nice" guy just to get the draws. That ain't a true nerd! A good half of these dudes are running around claiming something they know damn well they don't fit in.

What makes a "nerd" exactly? I feel this term "nerd" isn't even accurate to the stereotypical information that used to define a "nerd". What is a "nerd" in 2016 and what do they look like?

I know that, but those aren't nerds. A lot of those people are hipsters. Being a nerd is an all encompassing thing. It's gotta be who you are, the way you speak, walk, act etc. That's how it was in the past. Not alpha males that like playing video games.

Trust me if you put these two guys side to side and ask a woman who's the nerd

She's going to tell you the guy on the right. But if you say they both have nerdy hobbies she's gonna be like "sure, but he's different" when referring to the guy on the left.

Only certain aspects of being a nerd has been popularized while being socially awkward and uncoordinated hasn't been. Y'all are taking a part of something, making it cool

then wanna pretend like the whole thing is cool.
