two of my 3 aunts got masters degrees. and not a place like everest college or university of phoenix, i'm talking UW madison and Loyola University in Chicago. black women get down breh
If you read that much, then you should also be able to read the fact that this thread and my original comment was about levels of educational achievement among black women, not how it correlates to employment ( I'll get to that in a sec)
And if you made it that far and weren't being facetious, you would also see how extraordinary it is that
despite making up 6% of the population, black women are actually overrepresented in S&E, comprising 10% of graduates and 13% of postgraduates.
But if you want to talk work, let's talk work. As of 2015, black women represent about 2% of the S&E workforce and black men 3%. White women comprise less than a quarter and white men more than half. So, again, relatively speaking, we're still putting in that work. Of course, we still have a long way to go.
Spend less time and more time, keeps the brain from getting
I concur with this. It's a reflection of our community sadly. No wonder families can't stick togetherI use to think it was trolling, but now I strongly believe there's a lot of mentally ill people running rampant on this board.
our standards "sky rocket" with a "lil office job." How contradictory is that? Do ya''ll talk to black women or just make up fantasy conversations in your head.getting degrees don't mean shyt...they get their lil office job and than what? they're standards sky rocket and the avg black man don't have a chance with them
I'm not sure this is 2015. No words to explain this ignorance. I seriously think some of ya'll suffer from low self esteem. All I can do is .Not as much, you being a women usually shields you from crime regardless, think about when women get hurt or involved in a shooting, usually it's a mistake or something went wrong, women usually aren't targeted in crime, domestic abuse doesn't really count, that's more personal and doesn't really fit the bill.
You have less hobbies, less distractions, benefits we don't get and outside of your sexuality who can really disrespect you? No one really attacks women on the mental side, usually it's a physical appearance or women with random kids.
Honestly, I don't take female issues seriously, I take white women problems more seriously than you guys, you never really were put out there like that . 2015 your path is much easier than mine. You even get more aid and assistance than me depending on if you kids. Most desk jobs prefer women to men so women are able to move quickly key from job to job, simply put black men have to be twice as good to keep up with the average women.
You're gonna have to elaborate, black feminism and female problems, in don't really see it.
Outside of domestic abuse and the typical job racism tell me what's the black female struggle? White boys can call you fat, nikkas wilo still fukk you.
You gonna tell me you're fighting for equality and approval as a educated sister? We all are, you gotta get in line.
i like this chick
shes calls out all these hotep bums that prey on lonely black women
This shyt is real. Hoteping for p*ssy. Another game.
our standards "sky rocket" with a "lil office job." How contradictory is that? Do ya''ll talk to black women or just make up fantasy conversations in your head.
And ya'll steady cling to this (the lesser amongst you at least) idea that black women have ever had this option to not work . We were in the same cotton fields with babies on the back if you wanna go back that far. I swear ya'll don't know history or just speak outta ya ass.
Please note that black women comprise 6% of the general population.
So, as I said, relative to the population, black women are making progress. Yet, our levels of education do not correlate to fair treatment in the workplace or employment, which is also why more black women are becoming entrepreneurs.

The percentage of African-Americans earning STEM degrees has fallen during the last decade. It may seem far-fetched for an undereducated black population to aspire to become chemists or computer scientists, but the door is wide open, colleges say, and the shortfall has created opportunities for those who choose this path.
Black people are 12 percent of the U.S. population and 11 percent of all students beyond high school. In 2009, they received just 7 percent of all STEM bachelor's degrees, 4 percent of master's degrees, and 2 percent of PhDs, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
From community college through PhD level, the percentage of STEM degrees received by blacks in 2009 was 7.5 percent, down from 8.1 percent in 2001.
The numbers are striking in certain fields. In 2009, African-Americans received 1 percent of degrees in science technologies, and 4 percent of degrees in math and statistics. Out of 5,048 PhDs awarded in the physical sciences, such as chemistry and physics, 89 went to African-Americans – less than 2 percent
It's funny how black women will believe statistics that favor them but let a study saying how they have the most hiv, obese, or least married and they will cry about how it's an attack on black women and it's a lie
