Most of the cases that get the attention there were a ton of witnesses or video.

People forget that the biggest thing with Mike Brown was folks had pictures and videos. This sista incident is blowing up because of witnesses of the traffic stop and the videos.

with the rise of social media its been more difficult for "them" to control the narrative and manipulate the news. Just because the media chooses not to report on it doesn't mean it ain't happening.
