The irony of that hashtag lies in the contradiction that makes itself evident in the slogan. From what is the imagined and fantasized ("black lives matter") and to what is the actual (they don't). People behind this solidarity assume that their demands are legible (and inso invest) to this system, and that multiracial harmony is foreseeable and should also be invested.
It's an escape from the truth.
And yeah it's so pathetic and passive, and to plead to your enemy. So obvious it came from black twitter feminists. The slogan just pisses me off.
Even then it won't "wake them up".
