SMILEY POTENTIAL?
SMILEY POTENTIAL?
It's better than nothing there's no Trader Joe's in NYC area as far as I know.
This statement kinda blows me. Why do we fight so hard to maintain low income housing, instead of trying to attract middle and upper class BLACKS into the area. I'm not saying we can't do both, but the fights to maintain a lower level on the totem pole see backwards. When are we going to raise or standard of living?
But what's there now? Are there ANY businesses? I live in a black ghost town bro. We would kill for a Trader Joes.
You guys really need to stop with these stupid generalizations all the time. I don't know what the exact socioeconomic situation in the story is but when these types of businesses (more often than not "high end" franchises) come in they don't benefit the original communities that were there. They lead to a wave of gentrification where the marginalized group is forced out of what were once their communities.
Most of the elitist liberals like @88m3 criticizing Trader Jones for "taking advantage" of the poor black community themselves live in white communities. But what's there now? Are there ANY businesses? I live in a black ghost town bro. We would kill for a Trader Joes.
THE DISTANCE FROM THAT GUY'S NOSE TO HIS UPPER LIP IS LONGER AND HARDER TO COMPREHEND THAN THE BLACK STRUGGLE, BROTHER!
