I stopped debating music years ago especially with people in real life.

But I still buy new releases from artists I really like and I'm black.

i try before i buy. if its dope i buy. if its an artist i really like i might buy of the strength. and me buying music has nothing to do with my race.

and people who say "i dont buy the music but i go to the shows to support the artist" are full of shyt. if you like the music, buy the music. also, the recession excuse is just an excuse. one album a month aint gonna make you homeless

a better way of putting it would be to say that artists who move big retail units are the ones that have a big white following.

i think black people are more synonymous with not buying music because long before napster existed, black folks always had bootlegs and we dubbed tapes like crazy. downloading was the white man's answer to the bootleg man. when white people found a bootleg man, the game dried up.

altho, i feel that another reason why record sales are so down is because of the lack of quality music being put in stores.
