Sorry to say this but in addition to the pressures of living largely in countries where people treat us differently we add to our own material (NOT monetary) and psychological issues by our own behaviour.

Off the top of my head.

1. Child Abuse. Many a joke is told about this but it is not a joke and can cause physiological changes to stress mediating, mitigating and management parts of the body which are impossible to reverse.
2. Co-operation. Need I say more?
3. Inner-group interpersonal relationships. Need I say more?

And the biggest contributing factor is that too many of us don't even see these things as being issues.

The daily grind and attrition of the war of passive abuse is wearing but the main thing I cannot understand is why we do so much to contribute to its effectiveness.

Other people do not like us. Is that fair or moral? No. Is it understandable? Possibly. Can we expect them to like us? Possibly not. But what we can demand is that WE do not act in the same way towards US.

Does anyone else think the constant policing we do of each other leads to issues with each other? And if that's the case why do we allow it?

This is a great thread to have thank you for starting this. I have gotten a bunch of emails asking for use to have a segment talking about this type of stuff but I've been reluctant only because I'm not sure I can talk about it in depth enough to really do it justice. I honestly didn't realize just how wide spread this is in our culture.

I think shame plays a bigger factor in our community than we think.

I've been a QMHP for close to 10 years now.

The first thing I suggest to anybody suffering from depression is MINDFULNESS MEDITATION.

It works.

The key is losing attachment to your thoughts.

Thoughts come and go, but it's up to you whether you react to them or not.

Is there a script or can you summarize this video? The voice/the way he is talking is making me anxious. Kind of unbearable to listen to.
