I'm going to sound like a Detroit hater but from our sound BM sounds like a jay dilla knockoff tto me :yeshrug: I guess it's nothing wrong with that but where is the project that separates from that :manny:

That's a very very strong opening to an album sonically wise.

The symphony is rushed but calming at the same time.
The bass contains the volatility of the symphony well.
The hats and adjacent sounds keeping it all funky...

I haven't listened to too many of his projects/songs, Black Milk is too experimental for me. But here...here it feels like he's mastered experimental.

There's so much going on, but it all feels tightly nit together.

After one run through I'm loving how this sounds sonically, one thing with Black Milk is you know he's always gonna be on something different with his production. Outside of "If There's A Hell Below"/"No Poison No Paradise", I don't think any of the albums sound like the other since he started experimenting and deviating from his early sound.

Also, Phonte blacked out yet again, dude been smoking every guest verse for like the past 5-6 years since he started rapping consistently again

What we thinking about a theoretical Black Milk produced Phonte solo album?

This is a 2008 take, Black's style has evolved way past that and continues to change with each new album. Stylistically I don't even know who I would compare him to because his albums don't even be sounding like anyone else's shyt out at that time.
