Nice take, people forget Dilla production was always evolving too. Oddisee(Dj Jazzy Jeff protege) and Black Milk seem to be on the same music spectrum now. Unlike Young RJ(Dilla protege and also Black milks former production partner) still has that early 00s Dilla sound.

Yep, I always get sad thinking about that. Jay Dee/ Dilla had already reached a goat level but wasn't even close to his final form, even with the evolution he'd already showed.
Wouldn't mind. Black and Oddisee doing a joint project. It Would be dope lyrically and production wise

you picked one of more experimental tracks. Drums on that release were fine. Black and Brown from that album is perfect/one of the greatest beats of all time though

IMO the middle of the project lulls after The Black Surf, then it picks back up w/ "Feelings Don't Feel". Off the 1st listen I'm definitely coming back to the first four tracks and the last 3 tracks, I liked Quelle Chris's track as well.
