A woman who speaks like that and talks down to black men, probably wasn't giving them good advice anyway. She was probably just stereotyping them and invalidating everything he was saying.

It's scary because on the surface level they seem "reasonable"... but then they bring up stuff that shows you their true colors.

We need more black male therapists but a lot of brehs don’t take that career path seriously.

And rightfully so because it doesn’t pay very well.

I was in the same boat. Finding a Black man as a therapist was tough.

My point was suggesting black men become the therapists

when I lived in Ontario, I was surprised at the number of black male therpists available in the Toronto area. It may call for a quick passport bros move for a few days...

What I hate is that they try to justify this shyt. But I don't see this with any other group though.

I don't see white female therapist make tiktoks en masse shytting on white men. If someone can show me proof that many are, then I'll stand corrected.

I tend to agree. I've considered a therapist and one of the things that I want to address are male-centric issues. I later realized I need to talk about existentialism as it pertains to a Black Man. If you have a female therapist you can run into the issue of these women trying to chaistise your masculinity which isn't doing you any favors. We see this in academia also where young boys, especially Black Boys are punished more for doing things that are simply innate in male nature.

I have also seen that the narratives surrounding Black Masculinity are unsubstantiated yet said narratives are rampant in academia and are never countered, which is DANGEROUS for the mental well-being of Black Boys & Men.

1). Her place of employment needs to be found and notified IMMEDIATELY of her hatred and vile for black male clients. Just like that other crazy chick from a few months ago. The only way these types of people learn is through real world consequences. PERIOD

If I ever decided to seek therapy it would be from a black male, not because I think the majority of black women therapists share the same sentiment as this ignorant chick, but because as a black man who better to understand my issues and problems than another BLACK MAN? Seems like simple common sense to me.

Just sent an email to the board of examiners + therapy for black males.

The professional thing would have been to say hey, if you want to know how/why I’d be a good therapist for you…read my bio, website info etc. That's how a normal, professional would handle that. But of course she's not. She clearly despises black men and is incapable of providing professional services to them. I'm not even sure she's able to provide professional services to black women either, based on her twitter bio ("I help Black women overcome perfectionism"). Are you a therapist or a cheer leader?

For black men, if you decide to select a therapist, do your research. If it's a black woman, do a twitter search of the following phrases:

-Intersectionality
-Intersectional
-Black men
-bell hooks

Do the same search with white women providers, although I doubt you'll see anything under "black men" from them. Those searches could save you money and mental strain.

topic aside this is why a lot of people (especially blk ppl) starting business/services fail...they want to offer a service but believe they're above answering the questions potential clients have in regards to the service. Sometimes if you ask for pricing information you get met with attitude

It sounds like a bunch of curious men who maybe haven't participated in therapy wanted her to explain the benefit of her service, and instead of doing so she went of a prideful rage and turned to twitter to complain. Instead of upselling her service she expects her clientele to automatically bend to her requests and pay for a consultation.

Put your passport bro powers to use. US dollar will go a little further for you. When I used to stay there, price was reasonable so I heard. Probably higher now
