Work as a Truck Driver
I applied for Welding jobs, but if you don't got the certs, they only pay you like $11/hr . So I'm back in Trucking until I get all my certs to command a higher pay. Won't be long, might be in like 5 months

Austal USA out in Mobile passes out certs and pays 27-30 an hour for welders, over 3-4000 employees. Honestly if you live near a port, you will always have plenty of jobs. @IbucciMane! you should look into a welding apprenticeship

My granddaddy was an underwater welder and did well enough to build the biggest house, on a hill in the neighborhood for my pops n'em. That always impressed me but don't know shyt about it

I'm a local Truck Driver, I got enough experience where I don't have to go over the road anymore. I'm home every night

And yeah I'm in Welding trade school, I take night classes

Yeah I'm testing for a 3G plate, stick welding, after I'll take my 4G

My goal is to get a 6G cert in Stick pipe welding and TIG pipe welding

Salute. That 6G ain’t no joke.

I inspect the welding thing hat guys do on repairs for boats and barges. So I just gotta learn about the common imperfections and shii in welds.

Stay on your grind man if you get good at this shii the $$ is yours. There’s a shytty ass welder in the shipyard we go to and he makes hella bread bc he’s the only one out there they can hire
